Brandi has to read for thirty minutes every night as part of her homework. She hardly ever complains about it, because she loves to read. Her and her friend Hannah are the highest ranked readers in her class, and she is reading at least a grade level ahead of where she should be. I am very proud of her, and love that she inherited my love of reading.
This afternoon, I was sitting here at the computer...big surprise...and junior was watching television. It was quiet for a while, and Junior got up to get a drink. As he walked into the kitchen, he noticed Brandi all curled up in a laundry basket, reading. How cute is that?
She is excited that they only have one more week of homework. They only have two and a half weeks of school left. I can not believe how fast this year has gone. It seems like only yesterday the school year was beginning.
I have no idea what this summer holds for us. We are hoping to go camping for a few days, and hopefully we can save enough money to do that. Even if we go for two or three days, the kids will have a ball. I love the peacefulness that comes with camping on the lake. I love the wet mornings, when everyone else is still sleeping, and the only things you hear are the birds and the waves in the water. I love the thought of having nothing to do all day but swim and fish. I love spending time with my husband and kids.
Man, I think I need a vacation! lol!

That can't be comfortable, can it? I shall try it later. I may run the risk of never being able to get out of the basket once I am in it.
Way to go Miss Brandi!! Proud of her!!!
Happy weekend sweetheart!!hughugs
wow, your vacation sounds like a piece of heaven. Except the 'camping part'. I love the outdoors, but when its time for sleepy sleep, i need pillows and a BED...Its funny i say that as I grew up with camping. I loved it.
I have a reader in my home also. But she doesn't get in the laundry basket to read. Instead her sister sits in the laundry basket to watch tv.
I hope you get to go camping, it sounds so amazing!! When my girls get older, we really want to go too!!
And Brandi could not be any cuter in the laundry basket!! So great that she is already an accomplished reader, good for her!
