Two ER Trips Later...

A couple of weeks ago, I noticed a small little pimple on my leg.  Fast forward a week, and I had several angry looking blisters.  They weren't painful, just annoying, because I couldn't shave my legs.  Then last Wednesday, the one you see in the picture above showed up.  At first, it was a little spot.  After about 24 hours, it started hurting.  Bad.  I showed my mom, who is a nurse, and she suggested I go to the ER, saying she thought it might be an infection of some sort.  Up until this point, I thought they were from sweating, because they were mostly on the backs of my thighs, and sitting in the van all day, I sweat there.

I put off going to the ER for a couple of days, but by Friday, the pain was bad enough that I went.  The doctor took one look at my legs and said I am fighting some type of infection, and put me on antibiotics.  He said if that blister up there was a little more "well formed" they would have cut it.

Um, no thanks.

After three doses of the antibiotic, I woke up this morning with a nasty rash on my upper legs.  I called my mom again, thinking I was having an allergic reaction to the antibiotics, since I am allergic to penicillin.  She said I needed to go back to the ER, so that's what I did.

Turns out, I have a pretty bad yeast infection.  I thought you only got those on your girly parts, but the doctor said you could get them anywhere.  He said it could be from the antibiotics or that my body is simply fighting the other infection so hard that I will pick up every other little thing.  Fun, right?

So he gave me a prescription cream and another type of pill, so now I am on three different medicines. He also suggested I take benedryl, which if you know me at all, you know how bad an idea that is.  I do not do well on medicines that cause drowsiness, so my mom gave me some children's benedryl, and I took a 1/4 tsp, and at this moment, I am fighting to stay awake.

I just hope that by the end of this week everything is cleared up and I am back to normal.

This will always be the day ER ended. I have been crying for the last two hours! I can tell you now, I was not disappointed with the last episode. Though it was a new episode, they played out very similar lines from the first episode/season. I think I commented on someone's TT today about my favorite episodes. I talked about how the only episode I can not watch in reruns in Love's Labors Lost. I remember when it originally aired, and it hit me so hard then, I just have never been able to watch it again. I don't want to give anything away for those who tivo'd the finale, but they played out a very similar storyline, and I was bawling like a baby. They had so many lines that I'd heard before. It ended with Dr.Carter asking Dr. Greene, as in Rachel Greene, "are you coming?". I remember Dr. Greene, as in Mark Greene, asking Dr. Carter, "are you coming?". And then the basketball scene...that was so first season. What got me the most, which was so random, was when they left the bar, and Peter Benton hugged Carter. Holy cow, I was bawling! I loved their relationship throughout the series...the tough doctor and his big hearted intern.

Alright, I need to stop typing! Brandi is still up...gotta love spring break...and wants to play LIFE with me on the computer. I need some fun right now!

I know I have mentioned a time or twelve that I am a huge ER fan.

I have never missed an episode in all the years it has been on.

Can I tell you how pissed I am that they brought back Carter sick?

Finally, Some Relief

My head is finally starting to feel better. I ate some potatoes, watched survivor, and took a shower. That seemed to help. I'm thinking I might be spending too much time on the computer, and my eyes are making my head hurt. Make sense? But we all know I am not giving up my blogging time. That's just not going to happen.

I finally made my shopping list for tomorrow. I think I remembered everything I need for the party. I bought this kit where I can make chocolate pretzel rods. Hopefully I can make them come out alright. I might tackle those this weekend. The only problem would be keeping the kids (and hubby) out of them until the 24th.

We've almost settled on costumes. I am going to be a pumpkin, boo is going to be a cat, kasi will be a witch again, and ryan is the only one still deciding.

My mom is making cupcakes, so I don't have to worry about that. I'm going to make brownies, though, cause last year the kids loved the tombstone shaped ones off the cake. I'm going to do the same thing...shaping them into tombstones, then piping them with icing. They should come out cute. I know they did last year.

I guess I need to get off this thing. ER is gonna start in about 30 minutes, and I need to go dry my hair. Have a great night!

Must See TV

Tonight is another episode of survivor. This is by far my favorite reality show. The kids love it, too. I am also a huge ER fan, but find it hard to find others who are still watching. It has changed a lot over the years, but I still love it.

What Will I Watch Now?

As you may already know, ER is my show. The season finale was tonight, and I must admit it wasn't terribly exciting. Their "cliffhanger" pretty much sucked and their "OH MY GOD" moment has been done before. (Romano lost an arm years ago) It was unexpected, I will admit, but I am tired of the whole Neela love triangle. They need to move on. It also doesn't help that I still see John Stamos as Uncle Jesse. I keep waiting for Danny and Joey to walk into the hospital with D.J., Stephanie, and Michelle. Now that would be an interesting episode. I believe this was the last finale of this year for me. All my other shows have ended. I get to watch Deadliest Catch on Tuesdays now, YEAH! Wait, House hasn't ended yet. So that will be my last finale. It really doesn't matter and I'm sure you all couldn't care less.Anyway, I made some signs for my yard sale that Junior and I will hang tomorrow morning. I hope we get a lot of people who stop. We could use a little extra cash this month. Car taxes are due. Kasi's party is tomorrow night. She is soooo excited. She says most of the girls are still coming. It should be an adventure. I'll be sure to pass along all the details. Have a wonderful Friday. I know I will!

Time To Kill

I still feel like crap. I don't want to lay down, cause I'm afraid I'll fall asleep and miss ER. I haven't missed an episode yet, and I won't let tonight be the first. I haven't thrown up in a while, so hopefully I'm over that. Kasi is disappointed that we postponed her parties, but I promised to make it better next week. My mom refuses to come on Sat. cause she doesn't want to get sick, and I don't want to get Carson sick, so I postponed that party as well. My only dilema (is that right?) with next week is that we were planning our yard sale for Sat. I guess I'll have to set things up and leave Junior out there while I feed all the girls breakfast. I think there will be closer to 15 girls coming next week. I must REALLY be insane! I am excited about Mother's Day. I wasn't in the beginning of the week, but the kids have been sneaking things into the house that they've made in school. I LOVE the homemade stuff. It comes straight from their little hearts.Okay Survivor Fans. I was soooooo happy that Yau-Man played his idol tonight. If Stacy had kept her mouth shut during tribal, he may not have. But saying that the vote was going to be divided was stupid on her part. She basically told Yau they were voting for him. I really hope he wins. We'll see on Sunday. They were showing previews for the new pirate show that looked pretty interesting. At least it will be something to watch during the summer. The Next Food Network Star search starts in June and I am looking forward to that too. I had no trouble with the WW today. I think I used 2 points on the piece of toast I ate about an hour ago. I am starving but afraid to eat. Junior is having a rough time this week. He is such a junk food addict, as am I. Only difference is that he is giving in to the cravings EVERY day. Tami says that is okay as long as he counts his points. I say eventually he will need to give some things up. I guess time will tell. I've got about 30 minutes until ER starts and I think I might hop in the shower. Maybe the steam will help me feel better. Until tomorrow.....

Close Only Counts In Hand Grenades And Horseshoes

It was about 6pm. We had just finished eating dinner. The sky turns dark. The phone rings. It's Grumpy. He says there's a storm coming with really high winds. My brilliant husband decides that he needs to get up on the roof to make sure the bundles of shingles won't blow open. Not a good idea. He climbs a metal ladder. The sounds of thunder all around. We all know what comes with thunder. That's right, the lightening. I thought for sure he was hit. Me and Ryan were yelling for him to get down. He says he's coming and for me to hold the ladder for him. The metal ladder. Now I have a choice to make. Help my husband and possibly get fried, or leave him up there until the storm passes. Scared to death, I grabbed the ladder. He makes it to the ground. Shaking. He said the bolt hit pretty close. I bet that's the last time he'll get on the roof during a thunderstorm. Then again, he is a Wylie....I just finished watching ER. I cried. The wedding. It was beautiful. I know, not at all real, but beautiful none the less. Survivor was good too. It's getting close to the end and it should be interesting to see who wins. I don't have a favorite, but would like to see Yau-Man win. We'll see. I'm off to bed. Tomorrow is payday, and no Chinese on WW, so I'll probably start going through withdrawls. Well, maybe a spring roll wouldn't be too bad.....
