Remember when Summer television was just repeats of your favorite shows? I don't remember when, exactly, new shows started showing up on the Summer television schedule, but I am so glad they did. I don't watch a lot of television during the day, but I do like to relax at night and watch a good medical, food, or vampire show. That's right, I am talking about my three favorite shows that are all premiering in June.
First up is Royal Pains. Man, I would give anything to let Hank be my doctor! If you are unfamiliar with this show, it is all about a doctor who gets fired from his hospital position, so he becomes a concierge doctor in the Hamptons. With his beautiful assistant Divya and his brother Evan, he caters to the super rich, and the not so rich, who need medical attention. I seriously love this show, and can not wait for it to begin it's new season on June 3rd at 10pm on USA Network.
Next up is The Next Food Network Star. Now, you all know I love a good reality show, and this is one of my favorites, and not just because it stars Mr. Bobby Flay, who I absolutely adore. I love the challenges, and watching the contestants cook. Some of these people are really talented, and some of them, well, they make for interesting television. Check out the season premiere June 6th at 9pm on Food Network.
Last up is my guilty pleasure, True Blood. I mean, is there anything sexier than brooding vampires? Yeah, I didn't think so. I can not wait to see what this season has in store. I have been watching some previews and mini-episodes online, and it looks like it is going to be an awesome season. I can not wait until June 13th at 9pm. I will be tuned into HBO to get my True Blood fix.
Did you happen to notice that I have a conflict of interest? Both True Blood and The Next Food Network Star are on at 9pm on Sunday nights. Luckily, HBO always plays True Blood twice, and Food Network airs each episode twice as well. I will most likely watch True Blood at 9, and catch the Food Network Star when it repeats, usually at 11pm or midnight. It's a good thing the kids are out of school, and I can sleep in a little in the mornings.
What's your Summer Must See Shows?

I love Royal Pains, too! I'm also looking forward to The Closer, So You Think You Can Dance? (which starts tonight, but hating the new format), Burn Notice and several of the new series starting this summer look really intriguing. I would love to say that I'm looking forward to the new seasons of Mad Men and Weeds, but we don't get those stations! :(
True Blood is definitely the one I have been looking forward to most, but I love summer TV so my Tivo will be working overtime...Big Brother, Hell's Kitchen, Food Network Star, Top Chef DC, Eureka and Warehouse 13 all start up again soon. YAY!
Anna ~ I love Weeds, but I think I have to wait until August for the new season. I have been wanting to watch Burn Notice...maybe I'll check that out. That's the same channel as Royal Pains, right?
VetTech ~ I had no idea Top Chef was airing this Summer! That is one of my all time favorite shows. I am going to have to add that one to my list.
Okay, Top Chef starts June 16th, 9pm on Bravo. Yay!!!!
I haven't heard of the first one. I will have to check him out!
Lydia
Lydia ~ Royal Pains is one of my all time favorites! You should totally check it out.
We don't have HBO but my friend bought season 1 of True Blood and I watched it. It was great. I heard season 2 just came out on DVD I'm going to have to rent it. I've been really looking forward to it.
The only thing I usually watch during the summer season is Eureka on the syfy channel. Except this year it is coming on Friday nights and I have to work friday nights. I might just wait for DVD.
Tammy ~ I was thinking about giving up all my movie channels, but realized that those are the channels I watch most often!
YummY ~ I am going to have to find out what Eureka is...I have never heard of it.
I am so glad the TV execs got on board and realized that we don't want to watch the same shows whose re-runs we've already been watching!!
Stacey ~ some shows I am glad are re-run, like the ones I missed the first time around. I think I am the only person left on Earth who doesn't have a DVR.
Wow! You have a nice list here. I only have watched True Blood and I could no longer wait to watch the third season! Whew!
It's my first time to know about Royal Pains and The Next Food Network Star . Hope I could find copies of these TV series. I could tell that they are cool and worth watching.
Thanks for sharing! :D
June Zach ~ you should definitely check out these shows. I would love to know what your favorites are.
I do like Next Food Network Star!
Vixen ~ I just hope this year's winner does well...a few of them haven't.
Do u have cable or satilite? I know u can DVR shows now so u don't have to miss anything!
Crystal ~ I have cable, and it's an extra $15 a month for the DVR. Since I already pay $200 a month (I have cable/internet/phone through them) Junior won't let me get the DVR :(
Jenn, my favorites so far are "Supernatural" and "The Legend of the Seeker" . I am not sure if you've heard of them. :D
June Zach ~ I have heard of Supernatural, but have never watched. I have never heard of the other, but will definitely try and catch it sometime. What channel is it on?
I only have watched them on DVD. You can check the website of Legend of the Seeker to find the Local Time and Channel here:

Tell me what you think about it. I'm not sure if you like such type of genre. I hope you do. :D
Have a fantastic weekend!
Thanks for the link...I am off to check it out!
Yes, Burn Notice is on USA. I can't believe I completely forgot about my favorite, Leverage on TNT!
I think I'll rent some series on DVD this summer. That's how I got hooked on Lost, and now it's over! And so it 24. I tend to like the dramas. Might see if Royal Pain is good, though.
Diana ~ Royal Pains is awesome! It starts this Thursday, so make sure to watch it!
