Elephant Drawing

How awesome is this? My neighbor (and friend) Matt drew this for me, and I love it! He is amazingly talented! I lucked into the frame. You can't tell in the picture, but it's not actually matted.  It's suspended between two pieces of glass, floating free.  I found the frame at Walmart on clearance for only $7. I proudly hung this is my living room for everyone to see.

Cute!

One of my favorite new places to spend time is Hearts Of Clay.  I took the girls last weekend because they had gotten gift certificates for Christmas that we never used.  Kasi painted a fairy.  Brandi painted a vase and a cat.  Pictures of those will be coming soon.

I, of course, painted this cute little elephant.  She is an adorable addition to my collection.

Collections

Some people like to collect things.  I collect elephants, as if I had to tell you guys that.  Right now, I have about 300 of them, I think.  I'll have to do a count one of these days to find out for sure.  I have heard of people who collect thimbles, bells, and other types of figurines.

One thing I think would be fun to collect are beer steins.  I went online and found this really cool castle one, and I love it.  It is unique, isn't it?  I bet there are thousands of different types and designs, too.  I bet people who travel the world can find different designs in different places.  I bet Germany has some pretty awesome ones.

I also found beer glass steins, and they are beautiful.. The designs that they etch into the glass can be so intricate.  You know what would be really cool?  Finding a glass beer stein with an elephant etched into it.  I would definitely make that a part of my collection.

Look What Brandi Gave Me

I really do have the sweetest kids.  As usual, Brandi went to school today excited to trade some of her silly bandz.  Just like I do every day, when she got off the bus I asked her if she traded for anything good.  She just smiled, and took this blue elephant off her wrist, and said she traded for it, for me.  Awww.....my kid loves me!

Swinging

Things have been so crazy with the move and all, that I never got around to posting pictures of all the cute new things I got this past month. How adorable is this little elephant sitting on a swing? Junior saw it at a building store, and bought it for me, for no reason. Just because he loves me, and he knew I would love it. I am one lucky girl!

Brandi's Elephant Habitat

As promised, here is a shot of Brandi's project. As you can see, she has three different types of elephants.

There is the "real" elephant, which she borrowed from my collection.

There is the "paper" elephant glued to the side of the box, which she made with notebook paper.

And then there is the "duct tape" elephant. That is the one she is most proud of. I wish I had gotten a better shot of that one, because it really was pretty awesome.

Fun Day At The Zoo

We had a great time at the zoo yesterday. It rained for a few minutes while we were waiting in line to go in, but that was it. The rest of the day was comfortable...not too hot...which was great. We ended up going to a little zoo in Greenville, but they had elephants, so I was happy. It was small enough that the kids didn't get bored, and they had a huge playground outside of it where we had a nice picnic lunch, and the kids got to play. Brandi started running a little fever while we were there, and was complaining of a tummy ache, but she toughed it out, and feels 100% better this morning.

We are about to head of for a day of fishing, swinging, and duck feeding. We're meeting my mom at the park in about an hour, so I really need to get a move on....

My Early Mother's Day Gift

Junior bought this home from work the other day, because he knew I would love it.
Don't you?
It's got a cactus in it, and I have never been able to keep a cactus alive.
I have tried, several times, and they always die.
At least if this one dies, I still have an awesome elephant planter!

So, share with me tour cactus secrets...I need all the help I can get!

Baby Love

This is amazing! The baby falls in, and the females rescue it! It is awesome to watch them work together to save this little life. You don't even have to be an elephant lover to enjoy this.

Wasn't that cool?

Survivor

I gotta say I am extremely disappointed that Yau-Man didn't win. By putting his faith in a schmuck, he screwed himself. I was happy that Earl won. The only crap moment he had was voting out Yau, but it was also smart because he knew he couldn't win against him. It was also good that Cassandra and Dreamz didn't get any votes. At least the jury did something right. If I was Yau, I would have demanded Dreamz give back the truck. But that just shows how good a man Yau is.We went and met Jean and Del for a late supper last night. They are such good people. Jean had a bag with 4 new elephants in it for Mother's Day. That makes about 290. I'm gonna run out of room in my house soon. But I love then all!Enjoy your day!
