Cute!

One of my favorite new places to spend time is Hearts Of Clay.  I took the girls last weekend because they had gotten gift certificates for Christmas that we never used.  Kasi painted a fairy.  Brandi painted a vase and a cat.  Pictures of those will be coming soon.

I, of course, painted this cute little elephant.  She is an adorable addition to my collection.

Before And After Cabinet Pictures

These are the main cabinets in my kitchen.  As you can see, the maintenance guy did a horrible job painting right before we moved in last year.  He used a cheap paint that was not washable at all.  In fact, whenever I tried to wipe them down, the paint would come right off.

After
These are the cabinets under the sink and the only drawers in the entire kitchen.  They look horrible, don't they?

It took me all day, but I am thrilled with how great the cabinets look now.

Playing With Paint

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Glidden. All opinions are 100% mine.
One of the things I hate most about renting is that we are not allowed to paint the walls.  To me, when I want an easy change in a room, throwing a coat or two of paint on the walls is the best way to go.  I used to do this all the time when we weren't renting.  My biggest problem was always deciding on a color.

For instance, there was this one time when I wanted to repaint our living room.  I knew I wanted a shade of purple, but I didn't want something too pastel.  I was wanting something a little gray.  Junior took me to the store, and where I got a bunch of those color cards, but it was hard to imagine the color on the walls.  I should have gotten some Glidden paint testers, that way I could have seen the color on the wall.  The paint comes with a brush attached to the lid, so getting it on the wall is easy.  But I didn't, and I ended up painting the room a few times before I got the color I wanted.  It was not only a waste of time; it was a waste of money.

I just played around on www.Glidden.com, and was able to play around with the colors virtually.  As you can see below, I found a purple I liked for the walls, as well as lighter shade for the trim.

You can choose colors based on your mood, or find a top ten pick for the room you are painting. I think is a great way to find exactly what you want, and they will even find the closest Home Depot for you so you can go get your paint choices.  My mom is in the process of painting her new house, so i think the next time I am over there, we'll check out this site together.  I am curious to see what her favorite colors will be.

Yellow In The Kitchen?

I have been talking about repainting my kitchen for a while. I may end up having to get some College Pro Painters Toronto to come and give me an estimate. The biggest problem I ma having, though, is picking a color. My kitchen and living room share a wall, and are open in to each other, so whatever color I chose would have to look good in both rooms. Right now they are an off white color, and I think I want something brighter. I would love to paint one or two of the walls yellow in the kitchen, and then accent the other two with it. I would have to paint the cabinets either white or brown, because they are off white right now, too. the land lord prefers we use neutral colors on the walls, so I guess I'll have to get their permission first. I don't see how they can object if I promise to paint it back off white when we move.

I Want To Glow

Do you guys remember back in October when Junior and I made the limbo stick holder for Ryan and Kasi's Halloween party? I remember trying to use spray paint to make the limbo stick glow in the dark, but it just flaked right off. Well, I was reading about luminophore, and think it just might work. The limbo stick is kept outside, so during the day it can soak up the sunshine, and then at night it will glow. This will be perfect for this years Halloween party. I also don't have to worry about it touching the kids as they go under the bar because it is safe. I am even thinking about painting my nails, and the girls nails, with it. I just hope it doesn't rain this year.

Finished Painting

My bathroom is done. I posted pictures here. Go check them out. I think it came out awesome, but feel free to disagree. I know not everyone loves purple like I do!
