Last week I showed off the turtle that Brandi found while on vacation. This week you get to meet the snail she found. Believe me when I tell you this thing smelled so bad! I don't know how she was able to carry it around for three days.

It's been a while since I have done a camera critters. This is a shot from our vacation at the lake back in August. We found this turtle, and Brandi kept him as a pet for a couple of days. Of course, before we left, we released him back into the woods.

I have no idea what kind of monkey this is, but it's so cute!The day we went to the zoo, all the monkeys were so active. We spent a good amount of time just watching them monkey around.

Camera Critters ~ 40

This is another picture I took at the zoo. They did have a lot of different turtles there.
Tomorrow this zoo is having half price day, with $.25 hot dogs and drinks, and the kids wanted to go. I am hesitant because I am sure it will be packed. I would rather pay full price and be able to enjoy seeing the animals, instead of having to fight a bunch of people to get close enough.

I took this picture at the zoo. They had all these logs sticking out of the water, and they were covered with turtles. I liked these guys. They look like a little family....mom, dad, and kid.

We went fishing on Father's Day, and these guys were everywhere!
They had the coolest blue tint to their wings, but for some reason it didn't show in the picture.
At one point, I had like eight of them lined up on my fishing pole, but my camera battery died, so I missed that shot.

I don't remember if this is a crocodile or an alligator. I do know that it looked scary, and powerful. I sure don't want to happen upon him by the water anywhere. I might end up losing something.

I took this picture a couple of months ago at our local zoo.
I wish the male was looking at me, but he wouldn't cooperate.

I took this picture at our local zoo. I don't remember what kind of frog it is, but he's pretty cool looking. He reminds me of a race car for some reason. It's probably the bright orange stripes down his back.

How beautiful is this kitty? I love cats, and if they weren't able to kill me, I would love to have one as a pet to cuddle with at night. I bet they purr so loud.
This beauty looked perfectly comfortable in the tree.

Orangutans. They were so cute! The female is under the sack. She would occasionally sneak her arm out to swat the male who was trying to get comfortable next to her. Up above them, their baby was playing around, swinging on the fence. We stood and watched for a while, and it was so cool how the interact with each other.

Mommy and baby monkey.
They were so cute. The baby kept swinging on her, and playing around.
If it got out of reach, the mom would grab it back.
The dad was there, too, but he kept his distance.

You should all know by now that if I have elephant pictures, I'm gonna show those first. Last Saturday, we did go to the zoo, and I took tons of pictures. My favorites are the babies. I saw a baby monkey, and a baby orangutan. Yes, I got pictures, and they are soooo cute! My advice? Come back next week to see them! lol!

This is Spice. He is one of the two kitties we have outside.
He normally runs when I try to take his picture, so I tried getting down to his level.
I guess it worked, cause I got a pretty good shot.

Oh, and I am at the zoo today, so I will have tons of new pictures next week!

This was taken at our zoo back in December.
Now that it is nicer here, I want to go back to the zoo and take pictures with my new camera.
I am sure they will come out much better.
Maybe in a few weeks I can talk my mom into a trip down there...

Camera Critters ~ 32

This is Jack. Can you tell he wanted my attention?

He loves having his belly rubbed.

Unfortunately, we had to put down one of our other cats, Bob. I am pretty sure that someone poisoned him. A couple of weeks ago, he smelled like gasoline for a few days, but was otherwise okay. Then he started losing his hair on his legs, but was still acting okay. We just assumed he was irritated from the gas. Then a few days ago, he started losing weight, rapidly. And he started drooling constantly. So today we took him to be put to sleep. There was nothing else to do. I feel so bad that we didn't do something the first day, but other than smelling like gas, he was fine. I just hope that if he was poisoned, whoever did it leaves Jack and Spice alone.

How cool is this shot? I am pretty impressed with myself.
Me and the kids were outside playing, and we noticed tons of bees hanging out on these flowers.
Of course, I had my camera, so I started snapping away.
I got pretty brave and got really close, and I think it was worth it.

This little bird was determined to get inside our van.

He would land on the mirror, and then fly into the window.

Over and over again.

He's pretty, right?

Just not so smart!
After about 30 minutes, he gave up and flew away.

I think I said last week that I was done with my zoo pictures. I was wrong. I found this one of the birds that drink nectar right out of the cup if you hold it out. On this trip, I was lucky enough to get pooped on.
