My Elephant Earrings

It probably comes as no surprise to most of you that I wear elephant earrings. These are my everyday earrings. I have to keep something in my ears at all times or the holes close up, and these are special to me, so I wear them all the time. Why are they special, you ask? Well, let me explain.

My parents didn't divorce until I was in my early twenties. Soon after, my dad had a brain aneurysm and almost died. He ended up needed brain surgery, and we were very lucky that he came through that with no side effects. Most people who have this type of surgery have some type of memory loss or loss of brain function, but my dad was good as new. It was the following Christmas, I think, that he gave me these earrings. I remember him telling me that he picked them out because they had elephants, and he knew how much I loved elephants. He got married soon after this, and I am sure that he no longer picks out my Christmas gifts. That is what makes these special for me, the fact that he picked them out by himself.

Yes, I am a thirty seven year old woman who wears elephant earrings. And I plan on wearing them until I lose one.

Do you have any Jewelry Stories? If you have a story like mine, you can share it with others and be entered to win a 14K white gold 1.5 carat diamond Kay Jewelers necklace. That's a picture of it over there. Isn't it beautiful? I know I would love to have it, so I am going to enter my jewelry story.

While you are at the Jewelry Information Center entering your story, check out all the other interesting things they have going on. You can find out about jewelry trends, or how to care for your jewelry. I know I have both gold and silver jewelry, and I think there are different ways to care for each. This site can tell you what that difference is, and why it is important to keep your jewelry clean. They also offer shopping tips, so you can be prepared to get the best jewelry possible. In fact, if you are looking for anything jewelry related, you can probably find it on this site.

Those are so cute. Linz brought me home a tiny little elephant from Thailand. I think its about an inch high. His nose is turned up, which is suppose to be lucky. I also heard if you face a lucky elephant to the front door it is suppose to ward off bad energy. I don't know about that, but it sure is cute!
