Mystery

I had a hard time finding books at the library last weekend. I love mysteries, and am always looking for new author's to read. the problem I'm having is that a lot of mystery writers do serial books. That means it's hard for me to just pick a book, and start reading. If it's a series, I have to start at the beginning. That's just me. Now, there are plenty of series that I do read. I love Sue Grafton, and The Woman's Murder Club Series by James Patterson, or his Cross books.

But sometimes I just want to read a good book. So I pose this question to you, who do you recommend I read, who doesn't write serials? I love mysteries, and horror, and I can not stand to read the "quivering member" love stories. Yuck! Oh, and I loved the Twilight series, so something along those lines would be okay, too.

I would highly recommend Lisa Jackson, I found her and love her!! She has lots of books, and they are stand alone stories, but some have the same characters in them, kinda like Cross, but you don't have to read them in any order, because they aren't continuations.

Also I love Jonathan Kellerman, he is really good, and I like Iris Johansen. Again, really good reads. If you want medical mysteries w/murder, then Tess Gerritsen is really good too!! But she has some that are series.

Another good one is Tammy Hoag. Also Lisa Gardner. Oh and you know who I absolutely loved, and told everyone about? Karin Slaughter! (I know, the name, right? LOL)

If you want more suggstions, I will give you some...but I am stuck with Lisa Jackson now that I'm done with twilight.

Hey, if you want, I could send you a few in the mail to try out? Just drop me an email if you want ...

This was fun, Thanks,
Kat

I am a huge reader and I also enjoy reading mysteries - I've read all of James Pattersons, he's awesome, my next favorite would be Harlan Coben, some of his are series but most aren't.

Laurie Stolarz has a great, but short, series called Blue is for nightmares. She also has others that are not series...easy read.

I love historical romance so I would recommend Bertrice Small, but since that isn't your type of book then the only one I can think of that I really like is Stephen King. I can re-read his books over and over again.
