Yucky Morning

I woke up this morning to the sound of rain hitting the air conditioner. For the next hour, it drizzled. The kids got ready for school, and I tried to find some umbrellas so we wouldn't get wet waiting at the bus stop.

Yeah, right.

Five minutes before we needed to head out, the thunder and lightening started, along with the pounding rain. I only found two umbrellas, so the girls shared one while I shared with Ryan. Let me tell you, it is not fun to stand under an umbrella when lightening strikes. Poor Brandi was petrified, and I wasn't much happier than her. The umbrellas did little to protect us from the rain, and the four of us looked like drowned puppies by the time the bus pulled up. When I got back to the house, my hair was soaked...and that was with an umbrella! I could wring the water out of my clothes. I feel really bad that the kids had to get on the bus that wet, but there was nothing I could do.

I hope they don't get sicker, because we are all fighting head colds.

That's so bd when it pours just as you need to go out. i hate when that happens to me going or coming home from work. Sitting in wet clothes is not fun! hope your kids don't get sick now. Umbrellas are pretty useless in a downpour--I find that ponchos work best! We got a couple from the Dollar Store for just $1 each but they were very flimsy and only good once or twice. The best was my Indians poncho I bought at an Indians game once.
