A Beach Getaway

Brandi wants to go to Myrtle Beach. Whenever we ask where the kids want to camp this summer, that is the answer we get from her. The problem with this is that it is about a five hour drive to get there, and our van hogs gas. It would cost us about a hundred bucks just in gas. Plus, if we were to go, I would not want to camp out in a tent.

My sister took a trip to the beach a couple of years ago, and they rented a house instead of staying in a hotel room. They used homeaway coupons and saved a bunch of money. They stayed for a week, and had a fabulous time. Staying in a house allowed them to cook most of their meals, which saved them even more money.

They spent most of the time on the beach, though, and that isn't something that my family likes to do. We love to swim, of course, but laying in the sand baking in the sun is not our idea of a good time. We'd rather fish, and while I am sure there is some pretty good fishing on the coast, there is also really good fishing around here.

We are beach people. We love making things in the sand and playing catch plus swimming. I'm sure you will find the perfect thing for your family to do and everyone will be very happy.

Tammy ~ I can handle the beach for a couple of hours, but that's it. I prefer swimming in a pool :)

I also prefer not to be exposed in the sun. It tires me so much.
