I have been married for over fifteen years. In those fifteen years, we have lived in several different homes. The one we live in now is the first to have a working dishwasher, and I would be lying if I said I wasn't excited the first time I used it. It was so nice not to have to wash every single dish by hand. I still had to rinse them all before putting them into the dishwasher, but that wasn't bad.
I tried several different dish washing liquids in the dishwasher, and they all seemed to do an okay job. My dishes got clean. Ryan was tasked with having to put the clean dishes away, and his biggest complaint was having to dry all the dishes before putting them into the cabinets.
I was recently asked to review FINISH Quantum and JET-DRY Turbo. I had never tried those particular products, so I was interested to see how they would work. The first time I used the FINISH, I put the little cup into my dispenser as instructed, and it never dissolved. I found it intact when the cycle was over. The packaging suggested putting the cup on the bottom of the dishwasher if that happened, so that is what I did the second time, and it worked perfectly. I didn't rinse the dishes at all. I just scrapped the big stuff off and put the dishes into the dishwasher. I was really surprised to find clean dishes at the end of the cycle. I was sure there would be bits of food everywhere, but there wasn't. These little cups make dish washing so much easier! They were even featured on an episode of Designing Spaces. You can click here to watch the segment that focuses on the dos and don’ts of dish washing.
I also tried out the JET-DRY, and Ryan will tell you that it worked great. I filled the rinse agent dispenser with the JET-DRY, and the dishes were spot free and completely dry when the cycle was over. There was no need to dry the dishes before putting them away, which cut Ryan's chore time in half. I will definitely be buying both of these products in the future.
I am going to give five of you, my loyal readers, the chance to win a sample of both the FINISH Quantum and the JET-DRY Turbo for yourselves. All you have to do to enter is leave me a comment, telling me about your worst dish washing story. US bloogers can enter until 11:59pm on Wednesday, December 8, 2010. Good Luck!
I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of FINISH and received a sample of FINISH Quantum and JET-DRY Turbo Dry. Mom Central Consulting also sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.

My worst dushwasking story is when we are out of salt in our water softener, the dishes are terrible, oh and when I was young I was a dishwasher at a local restaurant, well, ummm need I say more? mjjaegly@yahoo.com
My worst was when I lived at home. Way back when, when the soaps and stuff just didn't work like they do today! We do have a dishwasher now and I would love to try it. You know where to find me !! :) Thanks for the chance to try this!
My kid's once put dish soap in the dishwasher. They stuff sure makes bubbles and a really big mess. I have never used Jet-Dry product and would love to see if it could help with my hard well water. We get alot of spots on our dishes.
My worst dishwashing story is Christmas 3 years ago. Dishwasher was not working and I cooked a lot of food. And I mean a lot! I was washing dishes by hand for at least 2 hours and still had to leave some for the next morning!
My worst dishwashing experience was as a teen babysitter. I decided to show how handy I was and run the dishwasher- using dish soap, not dishwasher soap (because I couldn't find it and I figured one was as good as the other)
Well, not only were the dishes sparkling clean (after I ran the cycle again without any soap) but so was the floor because I had to mop massive amount of suds that came oozing out the sides of the dishwasher door!
I love Jet Dry, but it's a luxury I've had to cut out trying to lower my grocery bill lately. I've never tried the little dishwasher packet things before, I have been afraid they wouldn't work well. I'd love to give them a try!
About a month ago I was washing all Jacob's bottles. And as I was putting them on the counter...he was putting them back in the dirty water!
My worst dish washing story was the time I was trying to do too many things at once and forgot to put detergent in the dishwasher :) Needless to say that load didn't come out too clean. *Thanks* for the giveaway!

Ugh - sometimes the trap won't open in the dishwasher to release the soap, so you open the door expecting clean dishes, but everything is still dirty!
worst dishwashing story? the time my daughter put dishwashing LIQUID (not meant for the dishwasher) in the dishwasher. let's just say it created way more suds than necessary!

The worst dishwashing story was when I was responsible for washing up Thanksgiving dishes at a house without a dishwasher. After spending literally half and hour scrubbing a certain roasting pan, the host told me she was just going to throw it out, so I really didn't need to go to the trouble of washing it. Grrr! :-)

The worst was when I left the water running and the sink overflowed. UGh!

The worst story of dishwashing would be when I worked at a restaurant and was responsible for putting the dirty dishes into that huge, HOT, steamy, stinky commercial dishwashing machine. I dreaded it everytime! I would be sopping wet just from the steam.

My worst dishwashing story was when I left home with the dishwasher running. When I returned, the house was filled with smoke and I didn't know why. I quickly realized what happened: a lid to a sippy cup had fallen to the bottom of the dishwasher during the wash cycle. When the heat dry came on, the lid melted all over the heating element and caused smoke to fill the house. Lesson learned: NEVER use the "heat dry" without ensuring there is nothing on the element and NEVER leave the house with "heat dry" on. :)
My worst dishwashing story... hmm, I wasn't the one washing the dishes, but I was working as a waitress in a national chain family restaurant that may or may not feature double decker burgers, and we got in these new glasses that were extremely heavy. I dropped two racks of them when trying to restock the glass area. Most of the glasses broke, and when they did, they broke into millions of tiny, sharp, shards, each. The dishwasher was nice about cleaning them up but I felt so bad!
