There are so many things I look forward to when the kids are out of school. I get to sleep in, which is always nice, though I do still have to get Junior up at 2:15am this week. Next week, he is on vacation, too, so everyone will be home. I know, you wish you were me, right?
I also love when we spend time together as a family, even though two weeks together can be a little much. In fact, the bickering between the girls started already this morning, so they are in their room deciding if they want to be nice to each other, or spend their entire vacation there. I am also making them clean their room while they are in there, so there is a chance they will never been seen again.
The one thing I don't like about them being home is that I get no "me" time. It's so much easier to sit down here and punch out some posts if I don't have three kids bugging me every two seconds. It's kind of like the phone....I can be with them for hours, and the kids have nothing to say to me. As soon as the phone rings, every one of them has to tell me something important, that can't wait. The same thing happens as soon as I open the browser to write up a post. I will be so happy when I get my laptop in February so I can lock myself in my room to get some work done.
I know I am not the only mom out there who has mixed feelings about school breaks. It's so much easier to get (and keep) the house clean when they are in school. I know I am not the only mom who spends a small fortune on food during breaks. I wish I was young again, and didn't have to worry about how many calories I take in, and how many calories burned each day. My kids would eat from sun up to sun down if I let them.
So far, I am still in control. It is only the first day of vacation, so who knows what's going to happen. I am praying that we all make it through with most of out hair still attached to our heads.

Hang in there !! :) Christmas is almost here and I think when they open their presents that they will have stuff to play with and entertain themselves with !!! :) I am jealous, I want a laptop !! :)
I am right there with ya. Although I always have one at home and the other is preschool so its only part time, I so look forward to those few hours every other day. I have my 1 1/2 year old trained to do nap time during those hours... its the only time of day I get a breath! Hang in there... January will be here before we know it!
