Now, I am a big fan of entrecard. I have found tons of blogs that I am now reading on a daily basis. I am number two in my category, and have been for a week or so. I have done nothing special to get there. I just drop my 300 cards a day, and have figured out which blogs give me the most traffic, and I advertise on them. I don't horde my credits, I spend them as soon as I get to about 1500 or so. It has taken me a few months of dropping 300 every single day, but it doesn't take me too long, and I think it is worth it.
As far as my real rank for paid posting, I tried something with my other blog, which also has entrecard. For a week, I dropped 300 every day over there. My real rank dropped considerably! I went from over 4000 to under 1000 in about a week. My real rank on this blog hoovers around 600, which is pretty good. I think it is because of entrecard.
I got a message the other day from a fellow dropper, asking if I would be interested in donating some credits to a giveaway she is doing on her blog. I have never done something like this, and wasn't sure how it worked. After a couple of messages back and forth, I have decided to be a sponsor in her giveaway. I will be giving away 500 credits. I'm pretty excited about this, because it is going to give my blog some great exposure. I will let you all know when it's posted so you can enter her giveaway. Most of you might remember that rambling post I did a couple of Thursday's ago, where I questioned the purpose of this blog, and why I was even blogging? You guys rocked and left some awesome feedback. I decided that I am doing this for me, and that I should do what makes me happy. So...I have been commenting more on your blogs...no more lurking...and I have been writing more on here. It's funny...I put so much effort into this blog, which is ranked n/a by google, and my craft blog, which never gets comments, is a PR2...go figure!
OH, and check out my Alexa ranking...it's under 100,000! That's right! It's 98,334! I have no idea what that means or how I got is so low, I just know that the closer to 1, the better. Yesterday it was around 135,000, so I have no clue what I'm doing right...but I will keep doing what I'm doing.
Okay, wait, I was writing a post about entrecard and kind of got off subject. Happens a lot to me! lol! Let me sum up my dropping habits for you...
1. I stay up every night and drop at midnight. With firefox, it doesn't take long. If there is a new post, I usually stick around and read it. Otherwise, I do drop and run.
2. I start dropping on the blogs in my inbox, starting with the most recent drop. I wish I could say I return every drop, but I have been averaging around 350 drops on my blog every day, so that's impossible.
3. Don't horde your credits. ADVERTISE! Find the blogs that get you the most click through traffic, and advertise on them. I have a list I use...no, I'm not sharing who they are!...and am always looking for new ones to advertise on.
4. I don't think I have ever been on someone's top dropper list...at least not that I am aware of. And that's okay with me. I like dropping on a variety of people, not just the same blogs every day.
5. I click through others advertisers. I start with a blog from my inbox, and just continually drop through advertisers until I come to one I have already dropped on. Then I go back to my inbox and click on the next blog, and do the same thing until all 300 are dropped.
That's all my entrecard wisdom. Do you do something different?

I don't drop nearly that many on EC. I did in the beginning, but I got bogged down by other stuff and never got around to it. Now I totally use it to find new blogs to read. I do (like you) click on one of my drops and then keep clicking through looking for new people until I get to someone I have already dropped on.
In my opinion, EC has been a terrific way to find new and interesting blogs.
PS: The ER finale was terrific. I loved the reference to the first season too (the basketball and asking Dr. Greene if she was coming).

I've tried different methods, I like like going through the inbox and doing the click through way too - but I have a list that I will always drop on first - and yes your blogs are both on that list! :) I play favorites and I don't care who knows ;)
But only a handful of days have I ever reached 300. I just don't have the time for it while at work, and I have dial up at home, so oh well :)
Hey Jenn! The single best thing I did regarding Entrecard was to switch from IE to Firefox! And that wasn't even too long ago.. LOL, It took like an hour to drop 20 cards on IE, SERIOUSLY!! It was AWFUL! I am slowly learning how to use entrecard better...I, Like you, drop on a variety of peeps..
Oh, and what is Alexa ranking? Your computer knowledge is way over my head, Jenn! LOL
You know, Jenn, I've been picking up trojans on Entrecard. I've picked up 4 lately. I even lost 5 days of my computer from a trojan I picked up from an Entrecard site. I've reported the sites, but the moderators do nothing - not one thing about it. It's very frustrating.
I use Chrome, btw - which is wicked fast. ;)

When EC works for me, it's fine, but lately, as you know, I have had nothing but problems with it.
But I also just click on my favs, then from there I have quite a few bookmarked in Firefox that I drop on.
I think I'll try the click thru thing, it sounds like a good plan, and fun too!!

I just sent you a email note from facebook with question's about ecard's. I guess I should of gone to your blog first.
I have only been able to do 300 drop's a couple times. My inbox only gets about 20 in it. I have a long list of fav that I also do on firefox. I think it's all fun I just wish I knew more. It's hard when I'm doing most of it at work.
