My Sunday

I spent yesterday babysitting my brother's kids, two of my nephews 5 and 2 years old, and my only niece (for now!) who just turned 1. They live a good hour away, so I was there all day. Got back home around 7, and then rushed around to get the kids bathed and fed and in bed. I watched a food network challenge, then Dexter, then went to bed myself. Any Dexter fans? I can't wait to see how the season ends!I was able to crochet a little while the kids napped yesterday. I'm making these cute candy cane holders I'm giving as teacher Christmas gifts. They are coming out pretty cute, and they're really simple to make. I'll post some pictures soon. I need to add the bows first. I was going to do pot pouri jars with crocheted tops, but I need to have 11 gifts! 2 for boo, 3 for kasi, and 6 for ryan. Plus, glass on the bus is not a good thing!Brandi, my baby, will be 6 next Tuesday, Dec.4! Where does the time go??? It seems like she was just born yesterday! But I can say, after yesterday with 5 kids all day, I have NO DESIRE to have any more. I'm quite content waiting on grandkids......many, many years from now!I spent my morning today wrapping Christmas gifts. I am very unhappy with the amount of stuff that will be under the tree. We weren't able to get brandi her "big" gift, because she wants a tv for her room, and we didn't have the money. Ryan and kasi wanted MP3 players as their big gifts, and I lucked into $35 ones at best buy on friday. Don't get me wrong, I know there are people who can't afford anything, and I'm extremely thankful that we were able to get what we did, but as a mother, you want to be able to give your kids everything they want. Or at least I do. And hubby still has 2 paychecks before Christmas, so I might be able to squeeze a few more gifts into the budget. I guess that's about it. I hope everyone has a wonderful day, and I have given out some awards recently, without telling people I awarded them. So go back a few days and look.....it could be you!
