Where Do I Begin?
Whew. What a weekend. I have been so busy!!!Saturday we left the house pretty early. The kids had money to spend, and it was burning a huge hole in their pockets. The girls only had about $50 apiece, but ryan had $200. Kasi got bratz related things, and boo spent all her money on cd's. She is now the proud owner of 2 hannah montana cd's, and the soundtracks to both HSM's. Oh, lucky me!Ryan bought himself a portable dvd player, then spent the other hundred on little things...an airbed for camping, flashlights, walkie talkies that have a 10 mile radius, and then a pair of boots. That's not everything, but most of it.Everyone got the basics. Socks, shoes, undies. I even managed to find some stuff for me on sale. The shirts are a little small, but hey, a girl can dream! I bought an organizer for my crochet hooks, because they were all just thrown in a baggie. Once I put them in there, I became obsessed with buying the sizes I was missing. I also bought knitting needles...sizes 2 through 10. Boo calls them my "sticks"! I also got a bunch of cotton yarn. It's black and white and grey, and my intention is to make a kitchen set. I already made one, and think it came out pretty good! I finally found some more of the baby yarn to finish ashleigh's blanket before she gets here!Hubby turned out to be the problem shopper this weekend. He needs new clothes for when he switches shifts in a few weeks, and we couldn't find him any shirts. We even got up yesterday and drove into NC looking, and nothing. He is so picky about the weight of the material they use. Drove me crazy! He did buy an air compressor. He's been borrowing his brothers, but this one is bigger. It came with some tools, so it was a good investment. I bought a futon for ryan's room. He has a bunk bed in there, but it is so big and bulky, he has no room to walk. It's the one with the big bed on the bottom, and the twin on top, but it's made of solid wood. My sis- in-law gave it to us, and luckily said she'd take it back. I don't know what I would have done with it if she didn't.I was also able to have my mom's ring fixed. When I got married, my mom gave me the engagement ring she got from my dad. A few months ago, the band snapped, and of course we didn't have the money to have it fixed. It cost me over $100 to have a new shank put on, but it is now back on my finger, where it belongs.Saturday afternoon we went to my moms to do a combination birthday party for me and my sis-in-law, south carolina mom. I had a really good time. As I said, my mom gave me the new dean koontz, which is really good so far. My sister colleen gave me 4 pairs of flip flops, and coasters that you can put pictures into. They're really cool. I got to see my nephews, and my beautiful little niece. My one nephew, my brother's middle son, is such a cutie pie! He has the awesomest (is that even a word??) personality, you could just eat him up.When we got to my mom's, she was babysitting the little ones. She has colleen's carson, and then my niece, TG. Carson wouldn't have anything to do with me, but TG was a little lovebug! She just wanted to be held, and even followed me into the potty when I had to put her down. They need to keep an eye on her, cause I would take her home in a second!!There was no crumb cake. My mom just teased! She owes me one now!!So, what else?OH....I almost forgot the best news of all. Hubby and I decided to join this century, and we got ourselves some cell phones!! They are pretty neat. I spent the weekend taking pictures, so when people call me, their faces pop up. Yes, I know these things have been around for ages, but we could never afford them, so it's all new to me. I think we got a decent deal too, only $60 a month for both phones. It's only 550 minutes to share, but free nights and weekends, and we can call each other whenever, and that's free. We'll see how that works. The guy said we can always go up to 700 minutes if we need to. Who knows. So that's about it, I think. I have to go today and pay the house taxes, and a few more bills that we let slide in december. I also need to refill ryan's ritalin, and have it at the school before noon.I tried to blog hop a little last night, and started with crystal. If you head over there, you'll see why that was as far as I got! (I'm just teasing, kinda! You know I love ya!!)I hope everyone has a wonderful monday. Enjoy!!
