Win A Trip To New Orleans

Would you like to win a trip to New Orleans? All you have to do is go to http://www.greatamericanseafoodcookoff.com/ and vote for your favorite recipe in the People's Choice Recipe Contest. Once you vote in this cook off, you will be entered to win a prize package including two Southwest Airline roundtrip tickets, hotel accomodations, dining experiences and more. The final five dishes all look amazing, and I picked my favorite based on easy or preparation and ingredients. As a mother of three, I don't have a lot of time to spend preparing a meal, or shopping for one. Easy to find, local ingredients are always great, and the recipe I voted for offered both. Lousiana Chef Brian Landry's Shrimp and Andouille Cassoulet was my pick. It looks easy to make, which means less hassle in the kitchen. The kids could even help with this one! I bet the leftovers would taste just as good. It doesn't look like doubling the recipe would be a problem, for those of us who like to cook enough for more than one meal. The vegetables required are easily found this time of year in farmer's markets, and local shrimp is always more flavorful than frozen. The herbs and spices are all familiar to me, and most I already have on hand. I really think this is a dish my family would love to eat, and a dish that I would like to prepare. Make sure you go vote for your favorite recipe in this cook off. The four other finalists dishes looked delicious as well, so you may find yourself voting for someone else. Whoever you vote for, remember that you will be entered for a chance to win a trip to New Orleans.
