My Wonderful Hubby

While at work yesterday, hubby met a very unusual customer. She was in the store, buying the supplies to help her son make a coffin, yes coffin, for a school project on the Egyptians. Hubby realized rather quickly that she didn't know what she was doing. She told him her husband was useless...they had just separated after 11 years together, and he refuses to see/help with her two boys. She gathers all the wood and nails and hinges and stuff, and looks at hubby and asks what tools she needs to buy to put the coffin together...like a saw, hammer...she has nothing.

My wonderful husband tells her to meet him in the parking lot after work, and she can follow him to our house and he would help her son make his project.

NOW...I WOULD NEVER EVER EVER EVER FOLLOW SOME GUY TO HIS HOUSE EVER!!!!!! DID I MAKE THAT CLEAR THAT I WOULD NEVER EVER EVER FOLLOW A STRANGE MAN WHO I JUST MET TO HIS HOUSE, WITH MY CHILDREN, FOR ANY REASON!!!!!

But she did, and my hubby helped her 12 year old son build an awesome 3 foot coffin. She said she could just tell he was a good person, and that she thinks God brought him into her life for a reason. They were here for a couple of hours, and this woman told me every single detail of her life, and I felt so bad for her. She is obviously very naive, and way too trusting. When she left, she was very emotional that hubby took the time to help her and her son, and it was sweet.

BUT STILL...SHE HAD TO BE NUTS TO FOLLOW HIM HERE!

Wow! That is trusting.

That was very nice of your husband to help her like that. And trusting of her, but also what kind of school projects are they giving out. A coffin? That sounds crazy for a school project. Just saying.

What was she thinking? But your husband is a great person to have helped her and her son out!

It may have been stupid to follow a complete stranger but she obviously is a good judge of character.

Your husband did a good deed for a complete stranger and deserves a lot of credit.

I think a mother will always do anything for her children.

Yes she may be crazy for doing such but I guess she had seen from your husband's eyes that he's a good man.

Maybe she at least told others that she was going to follow your husband? And maybe even gave the store address to some friends, just in case? Hehe.

Ok the woman is a little to trusting. Not saying your husband would have chopped her up into little pieces and stuck her in the coffin...But you have a wonderful husband with a great heart. HES A KEEPER!!!

I guess sometimes you are just so desparate for help that you trust people. and of course your hubby is a very nice guy so she made a good judgement, not just your hubby, but you and your family are very good and honest people. that was so sweet for your husband to help them out. i will never understand how any parent could ever walk away from their child or children. that just breaks my heart.

i'm glad that you befriended this lady and her children you are all such good people and it sounds like your family was her families saving grace. :)

i'm glad to call you my friend.

OK, am I the only one who thought this chic was going to throw the "stink" on your hubby! Yep, Unsuspecting Hubby was going to let her in, start gathering the tools and then turn around and BOOM she'd be on him like white on rice! Hands all in his hair, pealing him outta his clothes trying to rape him right there on the front lawn!! Good thing you were home, whew-wee that woulda been a mess! Poor ol' hubby was just trying to help someone out and she could have assaulted him!
Well, maybe I am the only one...I'm sick like that...;}
