Lay-Away For Christmas

When hubby and I first got married, money was really tight. We spent our first Christmas together with a 7 week old son. Luckily he didn't have a clue that presents were expected. The next year we knew we wanted to give him things that were a little pricey, but we could never come up with the whole amount at one time. That year we discovered the joys of lay-away. Unfortunately over the years, most stores have done away with their lay-away departments. Thank goodness Kmart Lay-Away is still available. Ryan has been asking for a video camera for a few months now, ever since his friend turned him on to youtube. He wants to be able to shoot videos with his friends, and then post them on the internet. I am hesitant to get him an expensive video camera because he is so young and we can not come up with all that money at one time. I found this great one that is available at kmart, and I can put it on lay-away until Christmas, making it easier to come up with the money. It's an Aiptek SD/MMC Flash Memory Camcorder, and it is $79.99. For us, that is a big chuck of cash to shell out at one time. Kmart will let you make a down payment, and then make payments every 2 weeks for 8 weeks until it is paid for. The nearest Kmart to our town is about 30 miles away, but it is worth the drive to be able to make this happen for Ryan this year.

I used Wal-Mart's lay-a-way every year for the kid's. I loved it. They don't do it anymore. Cool camera that Ryan wants.
