I was dropping ecards the other day, and read something that struck me as odd. I can't remember who's blog I was on (sorry), but it was a post about drinking water with meals. There were two sides to the argument, and I wasn't sure which was right.
One side said drinking ice cold water while eating solidifies the fat in your meal, making it difficult to digest, and therefor causing weight gain.
The other side said drinking cold water with a meal makes you digest your food faster, because your metabolism speeds up to warm the water.
The second made more sense to me, but since I am not an expert, I googled both sides, and found both to be untrue. While drinking water keeps you hydrated, it does not speed up your metabolism, or solidify fats in your stomach. They are both just old wives tales. (at least according to google)
Have you ever heard either of these? If so, what do you believe?

I've never heard either of these, but the explanations you googled make perfect sense. Interesting post!
I have never heard of these either....but water isn't a bad way to go! I have to get back on track on get my a** on the treadmill. Where has my motivation gone.
How are things going with you Jenn???
I haven't heard of any of those. I always drink water with my meals.
I have heard the second one. I don't know if it's true or not.
I never heard either or those, either. I think it's a good idea to drink water, lots of water. Drinking a glass of water before your meal is supposed to fill you up some so you eat less. At least that's what I've heard. I didn't Google it, though...
I like my water closer to room temperature than ice cold.
