In South Carolina, you do not have to recycle. I know a lot of other states require you to. When I lived in New York, about sixteen years ago, they were just beginning to make recycling mandatory. Down here, they have the different stations at the trash collection places, but it is up to the individual to actually take the time to do it. I will separate the cardboard, and put it in the correct dumpster, but I will admit that I usually don't do more than that. I know that I need to. I know that I need to teach my children. It's so true that it starts at home, and I need to get started.
Check out the sweater in that picture. It is a cashmere sweater that I found while looking for Organic Kid Clothes. It is made in the USA using 100% recycled cashmere. They cut up other cashmere sweaters, and pieced them together into this gorgeous sweater. Because it is handmade, no two sweaters will be exactly alike. Now, the price on this beauty is a little steep, but well worth it to help out the environment. It can be found at GreenEdgeKids.com, along with other eco-friendly clothes. They had a pretty good selection of dresses. I wish they had some in my kids sizes, but the ones I liked were for smaller girls. Maybe I'll get something for one of my sisters, if either of them has a girl.
