Thursday Thirteen ~ Fourteen

Thirteen Things About My Mom

1. Her family is important to her, and she spends as much time with my sister and I as possible.

2. She would spend more time with my other siblings if they lived closer.

3. She's pretty funny...we make fun of her all the time for some of the things she does.

4. She has a great sense of humor.

5. She has a blog...I just wish she would write on it more.

6. She will drop anything if one of us need her, even if it's in the middle of the night.

7. She is independent and strong, even though sometimes she may not feel like she is.

8. She plays a mean game of canasta.

9. She loves fishing with us, and the kids love watching her cast.

10. She loves the show "cops" and will watch it 24/7.

11. She recently discovered she likes decorating cakes, and she is really good at it.

12. I think I got my love of cats from her.

13. She is not only my mother, she is my friend.

I love you, mom. Happy (almost) Mother's Day!

Treasure each and every day you have with her. She sounds like a special lady. Mother's Day is a hard one for me this year since my Mom passed at Christmas.

Happy T13!

I'm fortunate as hell to be able to say that #13 is true of my mother and I as well.

Happy TT.

Adelle: I know the feeling. My mom went to be with the Lord December of 1999 and Mother's Day just is hard.

My mom and I were very close like it appears you and your mom are. We used to play Canasta too but Scrabble was my mom's favorite. Nice post here about your mom!

How cool that your mom blogs!

Aww, Jenn, your mom is great. To discover a talent for cake decorating? That's cool. Not a lot of people are willing to discover a talent for something so difficult and time-consuming (not to mention creative, intricate, and full of trashed attempts).

Happy upcoming Mother's Day to YOU, too.

You list reminded me of my Mom who passed away nearly 20 years ago. She loved Canasta too and taught me to play. I will be missing my Mom this Sunday - can I give your Mom a surrogate hug?

I was not inspired this week so I foisted my TT off on Pixel for 5 cookies and a short walk - actually she did a good job for someone who had to type with their nose!

Hi, I'm Pixel. My TT is 13 things doggies like.

Great post. Now I'm feeling like a total schmuck for not doing a tribute to my mom this week... Next week's not too too late, right?

Thanks for stopping by Sweet Tea and Sunshine!
