I remember going to concerts when I was in my teens. I remember holding up my lighter during the slow songs. It was awesome to see everyone holding up their own lighters...tiny flickers in an otherwise dark arena. Watching the CMT awards last night, I was confused when during a slow song...I think it was Brad Paisley...people weren't holding up their lighters.
They were holding up cell phones.
What was that all about?
I just don't think it gives off the same emotion. Do you?

Girl, I'm singing the song "Do you remember" -- yes, I remember. I guess it's the sign of the times.
Never seen them use cell phones for that function before. Kind of ruins the effect, doesn't it.
