Brandi won yesterday, so we all settled in to watch Marley and Me. I didn't realize it was such a long movie. Junior was home so me and the girls piled into my bed to watch. This is the story of Marley, and the couple who own him, John (Owen Wilson ) and Jennifer (Jennifer Aniston ) Grogan. They buy him on clearance, and he turns out to be the worst dog ever. The story follows their lives as they have children, and the relationships they all develop with this high energy, high maintenance dog. Of course, we all know the dog dies at the end, and I will admit, it was so sad.
Brandi bawled. She couldn't stop crying. But when she did, she wanted to watch the movie again, just not the end.
It was a pretty cute movie, but way too much sadness at the end.

Labs are like that. I went and seen the movie in the theater, and all I could think of is, "Is that Ziggy in blonde version???" Our dog has run out in front of cars, trusted everyone, chewed my good, brand-new shoes then left them in front of the rat cage as if to say "the rats did it!" and she gets in the tub with us if we don't shut the door. But she does love life more than any other living being I've ever encountered.
We liked this movie too--most of it is funny and although the last 20 minutes is sad, the book is even sadder. This is one case where I liked the movie better than the book. In the book, I really didn't like the wife but in the movie I did. I also got to actually pet one of the dogs that played Marley in the movie! Here's a link to my post about it and our review: http://zemeks.blogspot.com/2009/01/marley-me-movie-we-both-liked.html
