More Water Damage

Remember me telling you about standing at the bus stop during a thunderstorm last week? It had been raining pretty hard for a couple of days, and as usual, my stupid roof was leaking. I am really getting tired of this. Luckily, the spot over Kasi's bed was fixed, but my kitchen is a mess. This time, it leaked into my clean laundry, and I had to rewash everything. I really wish the landlords would call a professional roofing company and have the roof fixed properly. I am sure they could get a good deal on GAF Roofing instead of paying the guy who has "fixed" it about 10 times since we have been here. He is obviously doing something wrong.

There is so much water damage to the ceiling and walls in my kitchen. It's embarrassing, really. I am ashamed to have people over. For all I know, there is black mold growing. I will be so happy when we finally move. I think we are going to try and find a regular landlord, and not a management company. Regular landlords seem to be more willing to keep their properties looking nice, or at least that has been my experience. And trust me, we have been renting for a long time.

I'm not sure were you are located but look in to the landlord tenant laws of your state. There are laws against neglecting properties and make unsafe uninhabitable living conditions. You could be entitles to with hold rent moneys until it s fixed properly. But first look into the laws an learn your right. Second make sire every request to have it fixed is made in writing and sent certified main. And of course take lots of pictures.

I don't know...we've been renting this house for 14 years with a landlord who seems to not know from one day to the next if he likes us. He owns the house next to us, too, and that house has had a revolving door of tennants who have all trashed the place while we have maintained our house. Yet, when we got to him with a repair need, he gives us grief! makes me crazy!! Our bathtub has a separate one-piece surround that has separated and there is mold growing rampantly and he refuses to fix it. I mean, the damage is being done to HIS foundation and HIS walls. You'd think he'd fix it!
