Clearing Up Ryan's Skin

My son, Ryan, is going to be 14 on Friday. He is entering these turbulent teen aged years full force, heading straight for puberty. He seems to be mostly unconcerned about the changes he is going through, except for his face. It seems he is going to be like me, and have some trouble with breakouts. I have been asking around, trying to find the best acne products to help take care of his problem. I want to find something that will treat all the common causes of acne, like excessive oiliness, abnormal skin shedding, bacterial proliferation and local inflammation.

It was recommended that I try the dr. dermal new acne range. This is a dermatologist endorsed over the counter treatment for acne that is supposed to work really well. It has no side effects like dryness and irritation, and it is not tested on animals. I know being side effect free is important to people. It also doesn't contain any ingredients that are banned or restricted in any place around the world.

I know Ryan is anxious to get this little problem under control, so I am willing to try anything at this point. I ended up having to go to a dermatologist as a teen to get medication for my acne, and I am hoping that isn't going to be the answer for Ryan. Plus, if this works for him, I can let Kasi use it too.

We all know what happens when girls get close to puberty, and she will be 13 in May. Man, is it going to be fun living in my house next year with two teenagers. You wish you were me, right?

We use ProActive for my son. It works great IF YOU USE IT! I say that because we have seen the results and yet the boy does not follow the directions! Last week when he was in the wedding, his face essentially exploded and no amount of ProActive was clearing it up in time.

But besides that, before we had ever tried the PA, we did the over the counter stuff and none of it really worked for him. You can get the ProActive for like $19.99 for a month's supply. Money well spent when used.

Hey Jenn, can't you find another example for your acne sales pitches? You used me twice already and I'm trying to forget that part of my life! Love, your acne-scarred brother.

P.S. Got any ideas on treating the acne on my butt?

Hi Jenn... this is probably one of your paid posts... you go girl! But I wanted to let you know that the absolute best and cheapest thing you can do for acne is grow some lemon balm... crush a few leaves and rub them on your face. It's amazing stuff! And you can freeze some for the winter... so you always have it on hand. Just be careful where you plant it... it spreads like crazy. I recommend growing it a large pot :)
