This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of USC. All opinions are 100% mine.
It's a huge step. I have a few semesters of college under my belt, but I never finished, or earned my degree. I started going a year after I graduated high school, but at the time, I was doing it for someone other than myself. I did okay, and passed all of the classes I took with little effort. It was easy for me. I think, because I was not doing it for myself, that when the person I was doing it for left, I lost what little motivation I had to finish. Besides, it was pretty expensive. Now that I am older, I am thinking about going back. This time, I would be doing it for myself. It will also be easier, because I have the option of taking classes online. I can earn my associates degree locally, and then apply to a better school. When I was in college before, I was studying early childhood development. I wanted to work with kids, either in a day care setting or as a preschool teacher. I am thinking now that I want the same thing.
The USC Rossier School of Education’s MAT@USC offers online classes to earn a Master of Arts in Teaching degree. Of course, there will be field work to be done, but being able to do take classes online would be a blessing, especially for me. As most of you know, I don't drive, so having to physically go to school every day is not an option for me.
Financially, it is going to be a struggle, but it will be worth it in the end. Plus, this program offers tuition reimbursement, and with their accelerated program, I can complete school in as little as 12 months. That would be awesome. Plus, I would be learning from the distinguished USC faculty, many of whom are recognized for their contributions to modern education.
If you are like me, and you want more program information, look into this. I am going to try and start simply, and maybe work my way towards this.
All I need now is some financial aid, and I will be on my way.
