Field Trips For Kids Really Are Important

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Lunchables. All opinions are 100% mine.
One of the things Kasi has been looking forward to most as a member of her school's chorus is the trip they take to Florida in 8th grade to compete in a singing competition.  She's finishing 7th grade this year, so next year was going to be the year.

Did you notice how I said "was"?  That's right.  The chorus director decided that she may not be asking if the kids can go next year, because of budget cuts, or something along those lines.  She said she may request they enter a local competition instead.  I really don't understand this, because it's not like the school funds any part of this trip.  The kids are responsible for fund-raising, and whatever they lack, the parents are responsible for.  To me, it's just the beginning of things that schools are trying to do away with.

And it's a shame, because these field trips are not only fun for the kids, they are great ways to reinforce what the kids are learning in the classroom.  I am not the only one who is hoping field trips continue.  Lunchables has started a project called Field Trips For All, where kids can nominate their classrooms, or other classrooms, to go on an inspiring, educational experience.  From all the classrooms nominated, 50 will be chosen to receive this special experience.

I want to make sure kids can still have experiences like this one:

Take a few minutes and nominate a class you think is deserving o an amazing experience.  I am going to have to think about who I want to nominate, seeing as I have three kids.  I am leaning towards Brandi's class, because she is the youngest, and Ryan and Kasi have both already been on some awesome field trips.

But we'll see.
