Holiday Cookies

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Truvia® Natural Sweetener for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Every year, I get together with my mom and my sister to bake Christmas cookies.  We usually pick a Saturday in December and bake all day long, and then split the cookies.  It is a lot of fun, but every year, we tend to make the same cookies.  This year, I am still trying to lose the rest of this weight, so I want to find new recipes that have fewer calories, but still taste yummy.  I found this recipe, and I am excited to try it out.

 Ingredients:

1 ⅛ cups flour

12 tsp salt
12 tsp baking soda
12 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
14 cup + 2 Tbsp Truvia® Baking Blend
12 tsp vanilla
1 large egg
1 cup (6 oz.) chocolate chips

Directions:

1.Preheat oven to 375° F.
2.Combine flour, salt and baking soda in a small bowl.
3.Beat butter, Truvia® Baking Blend and vanilla (and optional molasses) in a separate large mixing bowl. Mix in egg.
4.Gradually stir in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips.
5.Drop rounded tablespoons on cookie sheets and press down to slightly flatten.
6.Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until lightly browned.

Don't they sound and look good?  I am interested to see how they turn out using the Truvia® Baking Blend.  It is supposed to have the same texture in recipes as sugar, but with 75% fewer calories and twice the sweetness. Truvia® comes in a 1.5 pound closeable bag with an easy to use pour spout, which is enough to make many yummy desserts. I am going to try using Truvia® in some of my favorite cookie recipes this year, but I could use some new recipes.  Feel free to share your favorite recipe with me, and I'll let you know if I use it.  Just remember, I love anything with chocolate and/or peanut butter. And you can Visit the Truvia® website for more tips and information on Truvia® Baking Blend.
