Friday night, my hubby's ex-mother in law was supposed to come over and dye eggs with the kids. (for those who don't know, the past few years, my kids have become very close to my hubby's ex-wife's parents, jean and del. They only had one child, hubby's ex, and she died a couple of years ago. Since hubby and her never had kids when they were married, jean asked if they could kinda adopt our kids. I know it's a little weird, but they are good people, and they love my kids. And you can never have too many people to love your kids, right?) Anyway, she didn't end up coming, because del got sick.
On saturday, my dad and his wife came over for supper, and we dyed eggs that night. I made baked ziti for the first time, with home made meatballs, and it was YUMMY!
Yesterday, my mom came over. We played games with the kids, and I made another tray of ziti, yummy again! My sister colleen was supposed to come over, but her little guy was sick. After we ate, mom and I were just sitting down to play canasta, when colleen pulled up. She was in her PJ's, with carson, and said she just needed to get out of the house. Poor carson was so cranky and miserable, but he loves my kids, so he was soon smiling. I think he has thrush, because he has the white and red tongue, and he screams every time he eats or drinks anything. Colleen is going to take him to the doctor today.
Colleen also had a surprise for ryan...a new MP3! She bought one for her husband for his birthday a few weeks ago, but he didn't want it, for whatever reason. So they gave it to ryan! I have never seen a kid as excited as he was yesterday. Needless to say, it did not go to school with him today. Hubby is going to buy him a small lock to put on the little zippered compartment of his book bag where he keeps it, then he can take it.
