Ryan's MP3
When this happened tuesday, we told ryan NOT to say anything to the kids at school. When the boy who he thinks took it was questioned, we didn't want him to know that we thought he did it. On wed. the kids had a field trip, so nothing was done. Ryan did see this kid, and was nice, acted like nothing happened. When this boy went to take something out of his book bag, ryan saw it was a mess, and offered to help him clean it out. The kid replied, "no, and I didn't take your MP3". How would he even know it was gone if he didn't take it?So yesterday morning, my hubby called the school, telling the resource (police) officer what the kid said. He agreed to search his book bag and locker, and talk to the class. Apparently, he asked the teacher to just ask the kids if they saw anything unusual happen tuesday during class. Most kids said they had no idea what he was talking about. The kid in question wrote on his paper that he didn't take ryan's MP3. Again, how would he know, because at this point no one has mentioned what was missing, or anything. So the officer searched him, his book bag, and locker. NOTHING. I mean really, the kid probably has it stashed at home somewhere, not stupid enough to keep it on his person. So, we have exhausted all our options. The officer said he would call this kids parents, just to let them know what was going on, and ask if they've seen it. BUT, he told us not to get our hopes up because they don't speak english. They're russian or something. So basically we have to accept the fact that it's gone, and replace it when we can. Well, really replace mine, because I gave mine to ryan.Today is hubby's birthday. He's 42. That's right, I'm a little (lot) younger than him! We're off to lunch at golden corral with my FIL and his wife. The kids are out of school, so we're all going. Tonight hubby's ex-MIL is coming over to dye eggs with the kids. I hard boiled SEVEN dozen eggs yesterday! Tomorrow my dad and his wife are coming over to do birthday/easter, then on sun, my mom and sister are coming over to eat. It's going to be a crazy busy weekend, and my house is still a mess from where I've been sick. I'm kinda excited about the kids easter baskets. I got really cool ones, and lots of good stuff to go in them. I'll be posting pictures, for sure. I know in NY, the easter bunny hides eggs during the night, and the kids have to hunt them first thing in the morning. When I moved down south, I realized that is not the tradition here. The easter bunny leaves the baskets, but that's it. The kids take turns hiding/finding the eggs. If you ask me, the way I grew up with it was more fun, but I won the chritmas battle, so I gave in on the easter one. It's all about compromise!Have a great Good Friday!
