Leg Cramps
For the past couple of weeks, I have been waking up due to leg cramps, aka charlie horses. I remember this happening when I was pregnant, but I am 500% sure that is not the case right now. I looked online, and most sites say it is caused by dehydration. I find this weird because I drink all. the. time. Seriously, I always have a drink beside me. Maybe I should switch to water instead of the diet sierra mist I drink. Can you get dehydrated by drinking soda? I think I need to do some more googling.

I used to get horrible cramps (always in my right leg) that would wake me up. Sometimes two or three in a row.
Drinks with c affine in them WILL dehydrate you. For every caffeinated drink you take in, you need to take in at least that much water (or at the very least something like gatoraide).
I've also read that eating bananas can help leg cramps, but I'm not sure if that is true or not.
I had them too but now I eat a banana a day and I haven't had any.
Yes, ditch the soda. Bananas help as well as taking a potassium supplement. My hubby takes the supplement and he rarely has the cramps anymore.
Yes, you can get dehydrated from drinking soda (I know from personal experience), so try to drink lots of water, too. It's usually a potassium deficiency, too. I hate bananas, so I use supplements when I start getting leg cramps. Man, those things HURT!
Thanks for all the advice ladies. I just went and bought bananas, which I love, but I am still drinking soda. It's an addiction for me, because when I quit smoking, I replaced cigarettes with soda. I am trying to drink water, too, so hopefully these cramps will stop. They are soooo painful!
