All Registered

I knew going in that it would take a while, but I never thought it would take hours. We went to Brandi's school first, and were there about 45 minutes. She didn't get the teacher she wanted, but the one she did get seems really nice. Ryan knows her from his days at that school, and said she is a great teacher. We got to go in the class and sit with her for a while, and we started talking about reading, and where Brandi left off last year. Turns out she is reading, right now, where she should be at the end of third grade. Basically, she is about two grade levels ahead of where she should be. I knew she was a smart little booger!

We headed to the Junior High, and that is where we spent the next two and a half hours. My first stop was the nurse, getting Ryan's medication all set up, then I did Kasi: registered, got her books, got her picture done, met all her teachers, and then did the same with Ryan. Ryan will need to have one class changed, because he took the same exact course last year. By the time I made it to guidance to have it changed, she was gone to pick up her kid at daycare, so I had to leave a request with the secretary. Hopefully they will have it straightened out before Tuesday.

Kasi ended up in an honors math class, which she is really excited about. I am so proud of her for that! I was always in the honors/accelerated classes, so she is taking after me with all that. Junior probably could have been, too, had he applied himself. Ryan takes after him in that regard. If he would just apply himself, he does so great. It's just getting him to overcome the ADHD that is the struggle. I am looking forward to helping all three of them have an amazing year!

I always found this an exciting time of year. New classes, new teachers, new clothes, new friends, new starts.....:( I kinda miss it now.

Wow, honors math, that rocks. I kind of miss school time, but then again I don't miss the money school costs!

It's hard to believe it's that time already. The summer has gone by so fast to me. Big congrats on honors math to Kasi.

I homeschooled my older son from third grade on so I missed out on a lot of this stuff. My younger son is now in 4th grade and it's year-round school. He had a one-week summer vacation!! I'm looking forward to having a little bit more time before he has scheduled classes to choose from. Yikes!

I left you an award on my blog today. I hope that you have a great day!
