It's back to school time, which means parents all over America are shopping for their kids. I know I am. Luckily, I found all the supplies my kids need. They could use some new clothes, but I am going to wait until it gets a little cooler outside before I shop for that. They have enough shorts to last the rest of this summer.
When I went to register them for school, I was impressed with the school's cell phone policy. It used to be that the students couldn't even carry them, but now they can, as long as they are not taken out during school hours, and they are not turned on while in the school. At the moment, we don't have cell phones, so it's not something we have to worry about. Ryan has been begging for one, though, so I may have to find some CellphoneShop coupons to get him all the accessories that go with cell phones these days. He has a birthday coming up in a couple of months, so maybe we'll see about getting him one of those prepaid kinds. At least then I wouldn't have to worry about him going over his monthly minutes.

I didn't think there was still a kid around who didn't have a cell phone...lol My kids drive me nuts with theirs, they come over and can't go 5 minutes without getting a text from someone.
The year that Nick started 9th grade - and the one year he was back in public school - we got him a pre-paid Tracfone. It was well worth the money because he walked to and from school and he could get in touch with us if he needed a ride or was going to stay late. The tracfone's are pretty inexpensive too.
