Last Tuesday, on the first day of school, she got on the bus, turned to the window, waved, and then started talking to the bus driver.
Huh.
Then Monday, she got on the bus, and never even looked out the window! No wave. No kisses. Nothing.
It used to be that if I even started walking back to the house while she could still see me, I would hear about it that afternoon. Now I don't even get a wave.
This makes me sad, because she is my baby, and she's growing up.
Excuse me while I wipe away a tear.

(((Big hugs))) It's a sad moment when they start to grow up, especially when its the baby. Hang in there, she'll be back...they always come back ;)
Yes sometimes they feel they are too big to do any of the mushy stuff.Don't want their friends to see. It is a shame that they have to grow up. A first grader would be perfect to have all the time.
Have a good day.
It's sad when they grow up and don't need or want us as much. :o(
Yep, when they start growing up it's as if they don't even know you anymore :(
It is a sad time when they stop needing us. However, it's also a wonderful thing to watch your child grow into independence.
Aww, you put a tear in my eye! My little guy is only two, but in his own little ways he is pulling away. No fears though, in the ER the other night, all he said was mommy mommy mommy, so we are still needed! I like the new page!
They grow up way too fast.
