The Secret Life Of Bees

Not feeling so hot today, I spent the afternoon watching this movie. I love Queen Latifah, so I was prepared to love this movie.

I was not disappointed.

This is the first movie I have seen with a somewhat grown up Dakota Fanning, and found that she has become quite the little actress. I was worried when I heard she was going to be cast as Jane in New Moon, but now I am looking forward to her performance. I saw the official poster from the movie, and she makes a cute vampire.

Anyway, this movie is about Lily, a 14 year old girl who runs away from her father, in search of information about her mother, who she accidentally shot to death 10 years earlier. Her search sends her to a house full of confident, successful black women, where she discovers that she is worth loving.

I think this was a pretty powerful movie, and I was brought to tears more than once. It also stars Jennifer Hudson and Alicia Keys. This is the first movie I have seen with Hudson, and she was great, too. I was overall really impressed with this movie, and would recommend it to everyone.

I saw the movie, I loved it. Dakota Fanning is an amazing actress, I see her growing up and really doing quite well. I've seen I think all her movies, lol Kat is a movie buff and a collector.

Oops if you liked that movie with the kids you'll love:

"Uptown girls"

"Because of Wynn Dixie" (its not Dakota, but her lil sister Elle, who btw her acting has improved amazingly well since that movie. She was in the curious case of Benjamin Button.)
