It is almost that time of year again. I don't want to say the "C" word because it will very likely send me into a panic. There are only three months and three days until the big day, and I have only bought a few things for my girls, and that's only because I found some really cute, and inexpensive jewelry, online. I have no ideas yet about what to make for my nieces and nephews. In case you didn't know, I prefer to make things for them because a, it's cheaper, and b, they have enough toys and stuff already.
I am going to have two new babies to but for this year, so I was looking at activity sets, because it is impossible to make them something they can use at that age, except for blankets and name signs, which I will have already made and given when they were/are born. These mats are perfect, though, because they can use them for a while before they outgrow them. I'm loving this Baby Einstein one, and am thinking about buying one for each of them.
I am also looking at books, because both of my girls love to read. I want them to read Charlotte's Web, because I think they will love it, although it might be too sad for Brandi. She is a little tenderhearted, and cries very easily. I wish Ryan would learn to love to read, but I think he has more Junior in him when it comes to that.
Ryan does love playing board games, though, but the biggest problem with that is that we already have just about every game. I was browsing ShopWiki.com and found Parcheesi. I used to love this game! I don't remember exactly how to play, but I am sure that once I read the directions it will all come back to me. It's not uncommon for us to have game nights at our house, and I love that just as much as the kids do. I cook all kinds of finger food, and we sit and eat and play games for a couple of hours.
Now that I am thinking about it, we are due for one of those. Maybe this weekend...

We use to do that too and I think it's tie for that soon too but instead of games we would have movie marathon WEEKEND, lol! Good food and good movies!
Family game night is Always wonderful! Great thinking Mom!!!hughugs
We used to play games a lot too. I loved that! I remember getting a Mah Jong game from my aunt and my mom would get three of us kids to play it with her a lot. It was cool because it was so different from other games. Sort of like Rummy but with tiles instead of cards and more things to go for to double and triple your score.
For a book your girls might like, I'd recommend "Summer Secret" by Renee Morris which is the first in the Sonshine Girls Series. I did a book review of it on my blog:
