How I Spent My Morning

Ryan wants to be the Scream guy for Halloween. Walmart had the costume for $17, but I refused to pay that much for just the mask and robe. I would have to buy the knife separate anyway, so I decided to make the robe myself. I spent $4.50 on fabric, and $3 on the mask at Dollar General. The knife he has in his hand in the picture is a real survival knife, which he will NOT be using on Halloween. I will buy the knife at Walmart next week. I think I did a pretty good job, considering I didn't have a pattern, and I sewed the whole thing by hand.

And I saved almost $10, which is awesome!

Wow, you did a fantastic job on that. I'm the same way about paying high prices when I can do it myself and save some money. Congrats on being #1 in your category. Way to go.

That looks fantastic! Way to go on the fabric purchase and you did great for not having a pattern.

Make sure you keep the costume. I read online last week that they're finally making a Scream 4. You can go in character to the theater when it premieres, LOL.

I think you did a fantastic job! Isn't it ridiculous how much they charge for costumes? You know, he isn't too old for my costume contest and you can win one of Tina's pumpkins. you can even just link this pic if you want to!

You can buy a fake knife at the Dollar Tree for --- just $1.00...

Great costume.

Kira wants to be a purple unicorn with a silver horn and white hooves.

I can not sew.

You did a fantastic job. I am supposed to make a monkey outfit for my daughter, to make it look like the picture she drew. I hope it looks a fraction as good as what you made. I'm pretty sure I will mess it up that not only will I be out the money for material, I will have spent hours and hours on and then in the end I will have to go out and buy a costume.
