When we were in triage, the nurse said her symptoms...tummy ache, sore throat, fever, cough...sounded like the flu, so she was given a mask to wear. She hated it. There were so many people there wearing them, though, so it's not like she stood out.
When we finally saw the doctor, he said she has an upper respiratory infection, but it's viral, so no antibiotics. He said to get a DM cough syrup, and keep her out of school until Thursday, because apparently she is extremely contagious. That's not good news for the rest of us.
Her fever finally broke, and has stayed down for a few hours now. I had to beg for tylenol while we were waiting in the ER...her fever was up and she was on fire.
She is still up right no, watching Hannah Montana. I am going to call the school in the morning to get her work so she isn't too far behind when she goes back on Thursday. We are also working on her animal project. She got to choose any animal that does not live in SC to do a report on, and she chose, what else, but an elephant.
Gotta love this kid.

Oh sweet babydoll! Hope she is feeling better Soon!!hughugs
i hope you will get well soon...
Oh I just hate it when you take them to the doctor/ER and are told...Go get cough syrup....this flu thing is a bad thing.. My feeling on this matter is keep them home and work through it unless they have a fever for more than three days. If you can control the fever you are doing well.
I hope she is feeling better. I just did the same thing on Sunday night. My oldest had a double ear infection. They gave her some meds for her ear pain and a antibotic.
