My kids get clothes for Christmas every year. For the past couple of years, Kasi has gotten clothes that she doesn't like or that didn't fit her properly. She asked me to ask my mom to give her
Gift Cards instead of buying clothes for her. She is finally at that age where her friends are commenting on her Walmart clothes. I know I should tell her it doesn't matter where her clothes come from, and she should be thankful that she has clothes, but I remember being almost 13. All she wants to do is fit in, and her friends families obviously make more money than Junior and I do. But, if she wants to spend all her Christmas money on one shirt instead of six or seven, that will be her choice.
I am going to suggest to my mom that she check out the gift card selection at SHOP.COM. They have a pretty decent selection of gift cards to several different clothes stores, like Old Navy and the Gap. I might even ask her to pick up an iTunes gift card for me. There are quite a few songs I want to download, but I won't pay for them myself. Christmas is the perfect time to get the things you won't buy for yourself, isn't it?
