I was at my mom's house this afternoon, so Junior got Brandi off the bus. Apparently she had a substitute teacher today, and there was a problem.Let's go back to last week for a second. Brandi's class had the same sub. During lunch, Brandi was opening her oranges (a little fruit cup...you know the ones I mean) and the top popped off and a little of the juice spilled. This sub started yelling at her for making such a big mess. According to Boo, she only spilled a little and it wasn't a big deal...she cleaned it up herself with one napkin. The sub totally over reacted, and it upset Brandi, who, by the way, does awesome in school. Never says a word out of turn, is always polite and respectful, tried so hard to please everyone...this all came from her teacher at the last conference we had with her.
So today the kids had the opportunity to go to the Santa Shop and buy little gifts for their families. When they were done, the teacher lined them up in the hallway and yelled at them for "all being bad...not one of you listened or was good". This upset Brandi, because as usual, she was good. Then they got back to the class, and the sub decided to check homework. Brandi said she just walked around and told all the kids that they didn't do their homework, and gave them all "X" on their paper instead of checks. I KNOW Brandi did hers, and it was in her book bag. But the sub didn't want to see it. This made Brandi cry, because she always does her work, and for the sub to give all the kids an X was unfair.
So...when she got off the bus, she told all of this to Junior, and he felt the need to go to the school and report the sub. The assistant principal told Junior she would talk to the sub, and I hope she does. I also hope she doesn't take it out on Brandi the next time she subs for her class.
