The other day when I went to see my friend's baby at the hospital, Junior had to wait outside with Brandi. They sat in the car and Brandi did her homework. When she was finished, she made this sign to go on the front of her homework folder. Just in case you can't read it, it says:warning: when you open it there is something boring in it...it is hideous...it is ugly...it is mean...it is little...it is my very own little piece of junk...it is my HOMEWORK

I can so relate!! My boys hated homework and it was such a battle to get them to do it...boring, useless busywork...then I read "The Underground History of American Education" by John Gatto, what an eye-opener! So now I'm home-schooling...no more suicide threats from my youngest (14) he actually smiles now.
