Dollywood

Most of you know that I spent last weekend in Tennessee.  My sisters and I have been planning this trip for a few months.  It was a surprise for my mom's 60th birthday.  I can not even begin to tell you how much fun we had!  It wasn't just the things that we did, either.  It was just enjoying being with my sisters, who I hardly ever get to see, because one lives in NJ and the other in NY.  My mom's sister also came, which was a great surprise for my mom.

On Friday, we headed to Dollywood.  I had never been before, and I was shocked at how expensive it was.  It cost over $100 for Brandi and I to get in.  I will admit, though, that it was worth it.  Brandi had so much fun riding the rides.  She had never been on a water ride (we did the one where you sit in the big round tire tube and get soaked!) or a ferris wheel (my aunt went on that with her...I have a fear of heights).  We were able to watch a bird show, where Brandi and Matthew (my nephew) almost got hit in the head as a hawk flew over them.  It was a long but fun day, and I got each of the kids a little souvenir.  I can't say that I will ever go back, but I am glad that I was able to experience it at least this one time.

That sounds like so much fun! Why do amusement parks have to be so dang expensive anyway?

It's crazy! Then they get you again when you need a drink ($3.99) or to eat (it cost me $20 for just brandi and I to have lunch!). But, it was what my mom wanted to do, so we did it. And, it was a fun day!
