Slim-Fast

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Slim-Fast for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I am the queen of dieting.  From the time I was old enough to know that I was overweight I have tried every diet you can think of.  I remember a time when I was just out of high school that I tried Slim-Fast for the first time.  Back then, you bought a can of powder that you mixed with skim milk to make the shakes.  They were horrible!  They tasted gritty if you did not mix them for a really, really long time. Needless to say, I did not buy another can after the first was gone.  I also remember not liking the fact that I had to drink my meals.  I am a big fan of eating, so only having one meal a day I could chew just did not work for me. I am also a big snacker, so only having two shakes and one meal drove me nuts.

I was asked to try the new Slim-Fast shakes, and I will admit to not having very much confidence that I would like them.  So, yesterday I ran up to my local grocery store to buy the shakes, and I was impressed that their selection has grown from the standard chocolate or vanilla that I remember from way back when.  I chose the new Rich Chocolate Royale.  I stuck them in my fridge to cool, and this morning I tried one.

The first thing I want to say is it was really good.  I am a huge chocolate fan, and I don't think I will have a problem drinking two of these a day.  The second thing that impressed me about the new Slim-Fast is their new 3•2•1 Plan.  On this plan, you have the choice of either drinking two shakes or having two meal bars.  Or you could have one of each!  Of course, you still have your one 500 calorie meal each day.  The plan suggests filling half your plate with veggies, a quarter with protein, and a quarter with whole grains.  My favorite part of the plan is that they now allow you to have three snacks.  They have 100 calorie bars, or you could choose to eat fruit, nuts, or veggies.  Either way you choose, you can actually eat!  This really does sound like a diet plan I could stick to.

There are five flavors of shakes to choose from:

• Creamy Milk Chocolate
• French Vanilla
• Rich Chocolate Royale
• Cappuccino Delight
• Strawberries N’ Cream

Each shake provides up to four hours of hunger control and offers 10 grams of protein, five grams of fiber and 24 essential vitamins and minerals.  I bought my shakes at Bi-Lo, and they are available at other stores like Wal-Mart, Target, Safeway and Kroger.  They are also available online at Amazon.com and the Slim-Fast 3-2-1 Store on Facebook.  I liked them on Facebook, and you should too.

I am going to try the new Slim-Fast 3•2•1 Plan.  I'll let you know how it works for me!
