I guess the big question today is have you seen the movie yet?
No, I was not one of the fanatics who went to a midnight show last night. I do, however, plan on seeing it this weekend with the girls. I was wondering, though, if it is too scary for Brandi (she's 8) to see. I know they have the big fight scene between Edward and Victoria, and watching the previews, this one looks 'darker' than the first two. I don't want to take her and then deal with nightmares for a week.
Opinions?

Ryan's New Favorite Movie
The girls and I were excited that Twilight was coming out over the weekend. I had budgeted the $17 so I could get it for them on Saturday. Well, as luck would have it, Junior lost a hundred dollar bill sometime on Friday, so my extra money was gone.No Twilight movie.
We woke up Saturday, Junior's birthday, and I worked our money enough where we could still go out to eat to celebrate. Junior worked until 3, so me and the kids had all day to ourselves. I was looking for something to watch, and saw where my cable company had Twilight on demand. So, I ordered it for $4.99, and in the following 24 hours we watched it 4 times! lol!
The funny thing is, Ryan was making fun of us girls, but decided to watch it, "to see what all the fuss was about". He loved it! I think it was all the vampires, not the love story, that got him.
Well, yesterday we had our birthday brunch, celebrating all the march birthday's in the family. My sister Colleen gave Junior a gift certificate to Target, and my sweet, sweet husband bought my girls, and Ryan, Twilight with it. He said he felt bad about losing the money, and wanted the kids to have it.
Awwwww....
He's such a good guy!

Why I Think Twilight The Movie Sucked
~no pun intended!
(jenn, don't kill me!)
I have heard mixed reviews about this movie. I loved the books so much, so I was keeping an open mind. As a rule, I hate seeing movies made from books I have read. They never measure up.
My mom and my youngest sister have not read the books, so they both enjoyed the movie. My sister Tami and I have read the books, and we both hated the movie. I think that is the key here.
Now, if you haven't read the book or seen the movie, but plan to, stop reading right now.
Why I loved the book:
Why I hated the movie:
I could go on and on and on, but I won't. I was just very disappointed. The edward in my head was not the edward in the movie. I like the one in my head better.

Why I loved the book:
- the characters were so well written ~ you got to know them
- the story sucked you in ~ you were rooting for bella and edward from the beginning
- the descriptions were awesome ~ I could see edward beckoning bella to sit as his lunch table (which they didn't even put in the movie....that was the first time they really talked!)
- how they talked to each other ~ stupid lamb/masochistic lion
- the meadow ~ enough said
Why I hated the movie:
- there was no character development
- it didn't follow the book ~ it skipped some of the best parts, and changed too much.
- jacob and billy didn't deliver the truck in the beginning ~ bella didn't reconnect with jacob until the beach, right?
- there was no meadow scene! This was so important in the book, it was the first time bella saw edward sparkle. Walking into a patch of sunlight just didn't do it for me.
- they had his bedroom all wrong!
- I don't remember him climbing trees in the book, did he?
- it was too rushed.
- rosalie wasn't beautiful enough
- they never talked about how james was the one who wanted to turn alice
- the "guys" never asked bella to prom. I think they had mike do it, but they were all supposed to
- at the end, bella knew they were going to prom. That's not right. In the book, she had alice dress her up, and she thought edward was going to change her that night. She had no idea about prom.
- it was just all wrong!

I'm Such A Dork!
I....AM....DONE!
I stayed up until around 3 to finish, and am sad that I have no more to read. I want more! I know it all kind of wrapped up at the end of this one, but I want to know what happens next. I'm not going to spoil it for those still reading, but I think there is still plenty to write about. Is there some kind of petition we can sign so she will write another book?
I guess since I have nothing to read I might actually have to clean my house today, or something...

And So It Begins...
From now until Christmas, it is going to be crazy around here. Thankfully, I will not be hosting anyone here at our new place because it is too small. This means I will not be stuck with all the wrappings to dipose of! LOL! Hubby hates it every year when he has to take off the trash. Although, there will be plenty from Santa on Christmas morning for him to take off.
I think I will bake with the kids this weekend. Not tomorrow, though, because when hubby gets home in a few minutes, I am going to get Breaking Dawn, and will not put it down until I finish it. I need to know how this ends. It's funny. I got my sister hooked! She was doubtful when I explained the pull of this series, but needed something to read in the car during the 12 hour drive down here next week. So she bought Twilight, and called me yesterday saying she can't put it down! Ha! I warned her!
Back to what I was saying. We will have a slightly less rushed Christmas this year, because hubby doesn't want to see his dad or anything, and his mom won't be dropping in at the last minute. I have our holidays planned weeks ahead of time, and it's difficult when unexpected guests drop in. I have my trays planned to take with me to my family, with no extras. I need to learn to have extras ready, just in case.

I Finally Found My Way To The Darkside
I admit it.
I have never read Twilight.
Until last night.
We were walking in wal-mart, and I saw the paperback version for $5. I picked it up, skimmed through it, and decided to see what all the fuss was about.
WOW.
I started it around 7:30 last night, and finished it about an hour ago.
I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!!!
Now I just need to get my hands on the others in the series....
and when I do....
you won't see me for a few days.
