My job requires me to always know what time it is. I am on a schedule most days, and making sure I get my deliveries where they need to be on time is very important. The clock in my van is two minutes slow, which is kind of annoying, especially when those two minutes make a difference like they did today. I thought I arrived somewhere before noon, when it was actually one minute after, and they refused to unload me until they got back from break at 1. I went and ate Taco Bell, but it was a waste of an hour. I hate when that happens.
I have a feeling you will suggest I just fix the time on the van clock, but I don't know how. Trust me, I have tried several times to figure it out. I think my best bet would be to invest in a watch for myself. There are so many pretty ladies watches out there, I know I will have a hard time deciding what kind to get. I used to have a gold one that had diamonds and amethysts around the face. I loved that watch! I still have it in my jewelry box, but the band is broken and it costs too much to have it fixed. Plus, I need something a little more sturdy to wear to work. I bang my hands and arms all the time on the van doors. I know if I wear a delicate watch to work it will break within a week.
I'm thinking of getting one with a black leather band and a simple face. Or maybe something purple. I'm not sure, but I'll let you know when I decide!

Swimming, Sleeping, And Watches
I know this guy who owns several different watches. I thought it was only women who matched their watches to their outfits, but apparently I was wrong. His watches are pretty awesome, too. I'm not sure if he owns a invicta mens watch, but I do know he has one that has a purple face. Yes, that's right. It's purple. Makes you wonder why I like that one best, doesn't it?
My mom gave me a watch for Christmas last year, and it broke soon after. The watch itself is fine, it's the band that snapped. It had a stretchable beaded band that was beautiful. My mom says she can fix it, if she ever finds the time. She's like me these days...so busy. I hate that most days by the time I get home from work I am too tired to do much of anything. I have been taking the kids swimming every night (okay, I have been swimming too) so I feel like I never have time to just relax. Then when I do decide to stay home in the evenings, I miss swimming. I just can't win.
Maybe I just need to go to bed now and try to get a good nights sleep. Or maybe I'll just play on Facebook for a little while longer. Yeah, I think Facebook will win.

All It Needs To Do Is Tell Time
A few months ago, my husband was honored at work with a watch. Unfortunately, last week the second hand fell off and the watch is useless. I am sure we could get it fixed, but I have no idea how much that will cost. I am thinking it might be easier, and cheaper, to just buy him a new watch.
I was looking online, and there are so many choices. Some watches, like the one he was wearing, simply tell the time and date. Other watches tell the time, both digitally and regularly, as well as the date. Then there are the ones that have so many features they are hard to understand. Take this Citizen Atomic Watch, for instance. Check out the face of this thing:
It can tell you what time it is in 43 different cities. It has a bunch of other features, too, but to be honest, as long as it tells time, it serves it's purpose. I have issues with being late. I have to arrive on time, if not a little early for everything I do. I think it has something to do with the fact that I hate being kept waiting, so I hate keeping others waiting on me. Wearing a watch helps me make sure I am where I am supposed to be, when I am supposed to be there. Bob is the same way, especially with work. He relies on his watch to make sure he is on time clocking in from breaks and such, so we really do need to replace it.
I think I'll let him pick out his own watch, though. We have very different taste about these things.

A Special Father's Day Gift
Father's Day is coming up, and I always have a hard time deciding on gifts for not only Junior, but for my dad as well. The kids and I always go the safe route and get them both something fishing related, but this year I want to do something different for Junior.
Do you remember last year when Junior got a watch as an award from work? As much as he liked the idea of wearing a watch, which he had never done before, he hated the band on it. It was metal, and too big for his wrist, so it was more like a bracelet. I found this bulova watch that I think he will love, especially because it has a leather band. He will definitely be able to fit this one to his wrist.
As for my dad? Who knows. He already owns a watch, so I guess it's going to be more fishing stuff. At least I know that's something he enjoys getting.

Homer Awards
As most of you know, Junior works at The Home Depot. Right now he is an inventory specialist, and before that he was a sales associate. The job he does now does not require him to constantly interact with the customers, but when someone asks him a question, he does have to help them.
Now, when a customer feels like he did a good job, they can call, or speak to a manager personally, to praise him. Every time this happens, he is given a badge, or a Homer Award, as they call it. Every time he gets three badges, he gets a $50 bonus.
Well, last month, Junior got his 12th homer award. This is apparently a big deal, and instead of a bonus, he got a watch. A really nice watch. There's a picture of it.
And Junior being Junior, as soon as he brought it home, he went online to see how much it cost. I laughed when he couldn't find it online.
I want him to wear it, but he doesn't like to. He says it is too heavy, and that it is too loose. I did talk him into having it sized, and then trying to wear it. I mean, it is a really nice watch, and I hate for it to just sit in the box. I want him to enjoy it.
But, if he doesn't want to wear it, I will put it up for him. He may not think it is a big deal, but I think it is an awesome accomplishment for him.

A Watch For Junior
There are only twenty three days until Christmas. That means there are only twenty two days left to shop. If you are like me this year, you are way behind in getting that shopping done. I blame it on the lack of money we have this year. It would be nice if I could just buy what I want for everyone, and not have to worry about the amount of money involved. But, since that is not the case, I have to stick to my budget, and buy accordingly.
I saw this movado series 800 watch and immediately thought of my husband, and how this would be the perfect gift for him. When he started his new position at work, he gave up carrying around a walkie talkie. It used to be that his boss would let him know over those when it was break time. Now that he doesn't carry one, he has to keep up with his breaks on his own, and he says it is difficult to do that when you don't have a watch.
This watch I picked out is perfect. Like me, Junior is not one to wear anything flashy, and this watch is about as basic as you can get. I can get second day shipping when I buy it, so even if I wait until the very last minute, I will still have a gift for him on Christmas.
The only thing holding me back is the price. While I can get it for over $600 off the retail price, it is still pretty expensive. I might have to wait until tax time to surprise him with this. Maybe I'll get it for his birthday in March...

A Gift For Me
Junior and I have an anniversary of sorts coming up. Way back in 1994, on December 22, Junior and I had our first date. We were set up by mutual friends, and met for the first time that night. I remember when he called me, he asked if I wanted to meet him at a bar. I said no, but only because I didn't drive. He ended up picking me up, and the rest, as they say, is history. We were married exactly six months later, on June 22, 1995.
This December marks fifteen years together for us. Some days it's hard to wrap my head around that. I don't feel old enough to have been with someone for that long.
We don't usually mark anniversaries with gifts, but this time I think we should. Most of the time it is hard for me to think of something that I really want, but I do have something in mind this time. A few weeks ago, I went to put on my watch, and noticed that it had stopped. Replacing the battery would cost more than buying a new watch, so that is what I want.
I found this movado watch online, and it looks almost exactly like my old watch. I love the simplicity of it. Most girls are into diamonds and flashy jewelry, but not me. I prefer simple designs, and the few diamonds on the dial of this watch are enough for me.
Now I just need to drop enough hints to Junior about it. Or maybe I'll have more luck if I just email him the link to this specific watch.
Yeah, that will probably work best.

A New Watch?
It's that time of year again when I try to think of the perfect gift to get Junior for Christmas. I have been looking at watches, because he has hinted that he would like one to wear to work. I am going to use Jomashop coupons to save money on a watch for him. He wants something nice, but nothing too fancy. He doesn't need gold and diamonds. In fact, I think he would prefer something with a leather strap. I love that he is not into material things. Neither am I for that matter. But, I do want to get him a watch I know he will like.
Maybe I'll just let him pick it out. Is that cheating?

Ryan Needs A New Watch
Last week my kids went back to school. The first day, Ryan had on his watch, which he needs to wear every day so he knows when to go take his Ritalin during school. He has had this watch for about a year. The second morning at the bus stop, I noticed he wasn't wearing his watch. When I asked him why he didn't have it on, he said it died the day before.
Now I need to buy him a new watch. I can go back to Walmart and buy another one that won't last long at all, or I can invest in a really nice watch for him to have for many years to come. With his birthday coming up soon, I decided to go ahead and try and find a nice watch he would like. I found this casio g shock on bluedial.com, and I think he will really like it. It has a simple dial, and is solar powered and water resistant. All of those are great things for a 14 year old boy. What's great for me is that I can get free 2nd day shipping, and you all know how much I enjoy saving money.
I am thinking about getting watches for the girls, too. Maybe as a Christmas gift. I wonder if they have anything pink or purple?

Have you always wanted to own a Rolex, but couldn't afford it? I am not the kind of girl who needs fancy and expensive things, but these watches are just beautiful. I especially love the one pictured. It's the Ladies Rolex Datejust MOP String Dial S Steel OYSTER Diamond watch. It has approximately 1.00 carat diamonds bezel set on 18k solid white gold. Doesn't that sound beautiful? At Perpetual Diamonds, this watch is available for $1000 less than at other stores. They are able to sell at a discount because these watches are pre-owned. Of course, they are all in like new condition, and come with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you get your watch and you are unhappy with it, for any reason, you can return it within seven days for a full refund. If you wait past seven days, you can still return it within thirty days for an exchange. This means there is absolutely no risk involved. Your watch comes with a certificate of authenticity, complete with serial and model number. They can be worn both casually and when you are all decked out for a night on the town. They have a nice selection of both ladies and mens watches, so you are sure to find one you will love.
