I really wish I had taken "before" pictures, but I didn't. When we moved into this house, 4 1/2 years ago, I insisted that the stairs leading to the basement be removed so that we could have a laundry room upstairs. Boo wasn't yet 2, so I didn't want to worry about her falling, and the stairs were old and falling apart anyway. (not to mention the fact that the basement stored over 25 years of crap!) Hubby and my FIL built my laundry room over the hole where the stairs used to be, so the only way to get into the basement is from the back yard. One day we'll put another set of stairs in, but for now, this works.Anyway, when we started a few days ago, you literally couldn't walk in the door without stepping on something. My MIL used to have a craft store, and the inventory was stored down there for years. None of it was any good, which sucked, it was just a huge mess. Not to mention the fact that things were just thrown down there, no organization whatsoever.Hubby build me a woodworking table that rocks! Most of the power tools are down there now, except my routers, rotozip, and bandsaw. (hubby bought me the rotozip for christmas years ago, and I think it's the best present he's ever given me!) We're going to build more shelves so my craft things for wood, like my paints and stencils and stuff, can go down there as well. I desperately want to paint the walls, but we can't afford it right now. When we can, you know I'm painting my space purple! Ya know, because it needs to be pretty so I can be inspired!Anyway, here are some pictures of our progress. They aren't that good, but you'll get the idea.
