Can You Imagine

My sister Tami called me this morning to share a horrible story. Yesterday afternoon, she was stopped behind a school bus. There were two cars between her and the bus, and the bus let off some Junior High kids. One girl started walking towards Tami's car on the sidewalk, when a kid on the other side of the road called her name. The bus had started to move, but my sister was still not moving. The girl ran in front of my sisters truck, and without looking, ran right into oncoming traffic.

She was hit.

Tami said she saw the girl go in the air, and she landed in front of her truck. The kid on the other side of the road started yelling for her to back up, because the girl was under her car. She did, and then got out and called 911. Tami said the girl was awake, crying, and saying that her neck and legs hurt. The paramedics told my sister the girl should be fine, because luckily the car that hit her had just started to accelerate, and wasn't going very fast.

The good thing was that she had my nephew with her, but he was busy watching a movie and didn't see the girl get hit. He's only six, and I don't think he would have handled that very well.

Thank goodness he didn't see it and was watching the movie. Glad the girl is going to be okay too. How old was she?

Good gravy! I'd be traumatized myself if I saw it let alone if the kids did. Hopefully she'll get better soon.
