Hiring A Florida Personal Injury Attorney

Last Monday, I was riding in the car with a couple of friends of mine when we ended up stuck in traffic.  As we inched along the highway we realized that there was an accident in front of us.  When we finally got close enough to see what was going on, my friend pointed out two.  One was laying in the road, and the other was in the grass beside the road.  That was the first time I had ever seen a dead body, and I have to say, I was pretty shaken up.  I am so thankful that by the time we saw them, they were covered up.  I don't know if I could have handled seeing them uncovered.

I think the thing that bothered me most was that they were just laying there, and all the medical people and police were just walking around.  If that was a member of my family, I would want someone to sit with them.  I couldn't handle thinking about them laying there alone, even though they were dead.  Does that make sense?

I thank God every night that my kids and I make it safely through every day.  I know accidents happen, and I worry that if something happened to me or one of the kids that I wouldn't be able to pay the medical bills.  The kids do have medicaid, but I have no health insurance at all.  I would probably end up having to find a Florida personal injury attorney or someone local to help me get some kind of compensation, especially if the accident wasn't my fault.   If it was my fault, well, I would be in big trouble.  I guess it's a good thing that I am a very careful driver.  I just wish that all drivers were as careful as I am.

We Saw It Happen

Saturday, Junior and I were standing in our front yard when we heard tires squealing, followed by the sound of a car hitting something.  We looked towards the main road just in time to see a white truck throw up a bunch of dust.  Junior hopped in the car to go see if everyone was alright while I called 911.  After giving all the information, the kids and I walked up the road to see what had happened.

By the time we got there, the fire trucks and ambulance had arrived, but the driver of the truck was long gone.  Junior said when he got up there, he caught a glimpse of a guy running, but had no idea it was the driver.  Thankfully, no one else was involved.

The accident was a result of the white truck being chased by a guy in a black Tahoe.  The guy in the white truck had just robbed the other guys business, so the black truck was chasing the white truck.  Junior had to stay at the scene until he was interviewed, since he was the first witness.

There is always something going on around our house.

Um, Yeah, Gross

So, if any of you read my craft blog, you know about the fishing rod holders that Junior made. If not, check them out here. Anyway, he gave a couple to my dad, and he put them on Craig's List. They were listed yesterday evening, and last night Junior made a sale. It was a custom order, because the guy wants the part that goes into the ground to be longer. This posed a problem because we didn't have the money to go get the steel Junior needed to make them, but Junior being Junior, he agreed to have them made by Sunday.

So this afternoon, he went to a local bait shop, and sold two more. He didn't get nearly what he wanted for them, but the exposure will be good, and he made enough to buy the metal for the ones he needs to make.

When we got home, he whips out the saw and starts cutting the metal, so he can go to his friends house to weld them together. I am sitting at the computer, and I hear him outside cutting. Then I heard him at the door, asking for a rag because he thinks he cut his finger off.

Yeah, I was instantly nauseous. I do not deal well with blood, especially when it comes to saws and fingers. I'm thinking I have to go out there and hunt up his thumb so they can sew it back on. I grab a rag, and run outside...he didn't come in cause he was dripping blood everywhere!...and he wraps his thumb.

I couldn't look, and I don't think he could, either. I could, however, see that it is still attached, so that was a good sign. Poor Junior about passed out, so I got a chair under him, and told him I was calling my mom. (she's a nurse...this is right up her alley) He told me not too, and he checked it out himself.

Thank God he just put a huge hole in his nail, and sliced his thumb a little under the nail. He refused to go get stitches, and I honestly don't know what they would have done about his nail. I poured a ton of peroxide on it, and made him promise to go to the hospital tomorrow and get a tetanus shot. The blade that cut him was a little old and rusty, and it's been a while since he's had a shot. I know he won't go, and then his thumb will fall off, and I'll just be able to say "I told you so".

Men.

Back From The Doctor

I took Kasi to the doctor, and he said her burn looks great. No signs of infection...we are keeping it clean...it should start to heal soon. We need to keep it covered still, especially when she goes back to school next week.

She's a trooper. She never complains that it hurts, and only asks for pain medicine at night, after I clean it. The doctor said it's going to take a while for it to fully heal, but we are on the right track.

Thank God.

Can You Imagine

My sister Tami called me this morning to share a horrible story. Yesterday afternoon, she was stopped behind a school bus. There were two cars between her and the bus, and the bus let off some Junior High kids. One girl started walking towards Tami's car on the sidewalk, when a kid on the other side of the road called her name. The bus had started to move, but my sister was still not moving. The girl ran in front of my sisters truck, and without looking, ran right into oncoming traffic.

She was hit.

Tami said she saw the girl go in the air, and she landed in front of her truck. The kid on the other side of the road started yelling for her to back up, because the girl was under her car. She did, and then got out and called 911. Tami said the girl was awake, crying, and saying that her neck and legs hurt. The paramedics told my sister the girl should be fine, because luckily the car that hit her had just started to accelerate, and wasn't going very fast.

The good thing was that she had my nephew with her, but he was busy watching a movie and didn't see the girl get hit. He's only six, and I don't think he would have handled that very well.
