Yesterday, we decided we are definitely moving. Junior was trying to convince me to do it in November, but I finally convinced him to wait until February, like we had originally planned.
This morning, we went and looked at storage buildings. I want to get all the stuff we do not use on a daily basis out of the house, that way when we do move, it is a lot easier, and not so rushed. We found a pretty decent deal, and are going to rent it this weekend.
Now I can pack the right way, taking my time, and labeling everything. If you remember when we moved last time, it was two weeks after my breast reduction, and I couldn't help at all. What a disaster that was! lol! I want to be organized this time, so starting now I can pack a little bit here and there, and move it to storage.
It will be nice to not have overflowing closets for a while, too.

You can pack your holiday decor away as you use it & the holiday passes too.
One suggestion, give the kids their own color of tape, like the colored duct tape. Then when boxes from their room is packe up you use that color of tape on those boxes, then when you move it's so much easier to look at that tape & know where it goes then to have to search for the writing on the box. And the guys that are doing the moving, or helping you guys can tell it easier/quicker too. For that matter the kids can help carry their own into the new place!!
I hate moving. we'll probably be doing it about the same time as you.
And Jennifer? That is an awesome idea that I am so going to steal.
I think it's a good idea to wait till after Christmas too. Isn't easier when you have a plan. I know it works better for me.
I agree...it's better to wait until after the holidays are over to do a move and decluttering the house beforehand is a great idea.
