The Birds Have Hatched!

All four eggs hatched, and they seem to be doing well.  My mom says the mommy bird gets very mad whenever she goes near them, and I agree!  When I took this picture, mommy bird almost flew into my head!  Scared the crap out of me.They are kinda ugly right now, but as soon as they get their feathers they will be adorable!  I will try and get more pictures next week so we can all watch them grow.

Watch out for those momma birds. They can be fierce! One attacked my dog last spring because she dared to walk under the tree with the nest!

They are so beautiful. I had a nest of chimney swifts hatch in my fireplace year. It rained really hard and the nest & babies fell down. I talked to my vet and followed his instructions. I was able to raise them for about 2 weeks. What happened after that was a long story and I don't think you want to hear it.

MAC ~ my parents raised a baby squirrel once...I think it came down our chimney, too...but my story has a happy ending. I wish yours did, too.

Very cool! I would be out there trying to feed them pieces of worm, and probably getting pecked to death by the momma bird for it! ;)

Hopefully they will be around for a long while, hm?

Fitness Diva ~ The other day we were at my mom's house, and Ryan wanted to know what the Mommy bird looked like...I told him to go stand close to the nest and he would get an up close and personal view...sure enough, not two minutes later, mommy bird let him know how unhappy she was.
